Although congratulations were certainly in order last month when Nick Cannon took to social media to announce that he was expecting his 12th child, circumstances have been a bit rough for the 42-year-old star as of late. Right on the heels of a report alleging he pays roughly $40,000 each month in child support for his 11 children, Deadline has announced that The Masked Singer host was recently hospitalized after coming down with pneumonia. The television personality shared a selfie of himself on Instagram in a hospital bed wearing a mask and hooked up to machines.

In addition to the photo, Nick Cannon included a lengthy caption, where he confessed he’s “not Superman” and advised his followers to “take care” of themselves and their health. He also indicated that his condition wasn’t serious, and all he needed was some good relaxation. He wrapped up his message saying he was at Madison Square Garden in New York the previous night “rocking a sold-out crowd.”

When he’s not being trolled by celebrities for his insane number of children, Nick Cannon is currently traveling around the country on his comedy tour Nick Cannon Presents: Wild ‘N Out Live, which brings the star’s reality series across the United States. The tour mixes comedy, variety and game show elements all in one for fans of the improv/competition show on each stop. So far, Cannon has performed alongside Rip Micheals, DeRay Davis, Michael Blackson, Justina Valentine, DJ D-Wrek, Emmanuel Hudson, Conceited, Vena E., Charlie Clips, Hitman Holla and Radio Big Mack.

The star’s pneumonia scare comes nearly a decade after he was initially diagnosed with lupus. He told Us Weekly in 2012 that he had been diagnosed with an “autoimmune disease” following previous kidney failure and blood clots in his lung. He revealed that living with the lifelong illness has motivated him to lead a heathier lifestyle.

Nick Cannon currently serves as the host on the hit Fox series The Masked Singer, which recently concluded its eighth season. The show is a singing competition guessing game based on Korean format King of Mask Singer, where 12 celebrity performers wear costumes to conceal their identities. One singer is eliminated each week and unmasked, with viewers being given small hints to guess along.

During the show’s fifth season, Nick Cannon was forced to step away from his hosting duties on the reality show while he recovered from Covid-19. Niecy Nash filled in for the star, beginning with the Season 5 premiere. She had previously appeared as a guest panelist in past seasons.

In addition to The Masked Singer, Nick Cannon also serves as a guest co-host on Entertainment Tonight as well as The Talk. Throughout 2022, the star has appeared on several other programs including The Craig Caddell Show, Extra, Dish Nation, and Hollywood Insider. He also hosted his own series The Nick Cannon Show, which was cancelled after one season.

Outside of his career as a television personality, Nick Cannon is extremely active on social media. Even while battling pneumonia from a hospital bed, he’s taking the time to engage with his followers. Our thoughts are with the star at this time, and we hope he is able to make a speedy recovery.
