Kat McNamara is a star on the rise, going from Shadow Hunters to Arrow, and now starring in the CW’s Walker: Independence. In addition to her acting career, McNamara has been a frequent stunner on red carpets and magazine photo shoots. Amazon’s Shotgun Wedding provided the latest movie premiere for the actress to shine alongside Viking: Valhalla star Bradley James.

The blue dress Kat McNamara wore to the premiere is a full-length gown with two thick straps of fabric up top accented with a thin gold necklace. Casually dressed, for a red carpet, James still looks delightfully rugged in a selfie with McNamara and while the two are waiting for the movie to start. While this wasn’t a date, Bradley James is with his long-time Merlin co-star Angel Coulby while McNamara is single, the two looked to have fun before giving the comedy a rave review.

Kat McNamara referred to the Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel comedy as “a genuinely fun and clever film.” In addition, the star added that The White Lotus star Jennifer Coolidge is “brilliant as always – she kills it.” The Amazon original rom-com also stars Cheech Marin, Lenny Kravitz, Sonia Braga, D’arcy Carden, Selena Tan, Desmin Borges, Alex Marrai Jr., and Callie Hernandez.

Shotgun Wedding had a rough production, originally starring Ryan Reynolds, and than Armie Hammer before he dropped out in the wake of the cannibal scandal. Kat McNamara is no stranger to troubled productions, having starred in the Maze Runner franchise, including Maze Runner: Death Cure which was delayed following Dylan O’Brien’s motorcycle accident. When the vehicle started to slide, O’Brien hit the ground and suffered a concussion, a facial fracture, and brain damage, delaying production until he recovered from the potentially lethal accident.

Before joining the young adult novel adaptation, Kat McNamara was the lead of another franchise, Shadow Hunters, based on the book series by Cassandra Clare. First a feature film, Mortal Instruments: the City of Bone starring Lilly James was a failure at the box office, failing to recover its budget, though when relaunched as a television series on Freeform it was a cult hit. McNamara and her co-star, Domonic Sherwood, launched a re-watch podcast last year going through the filming and background of each episode in the series.

Currently, Kat McNamara is starring in Walker: Independence as the ancestor of Jared Padalecki’s rebooted Walker, Abigail “Abby” Walker. A Bostonian heading out west with her husband, Abby sees him murdered in front of her, then joining up with Matt Barr’s Hoyt Rawlins, a charming rogue that joins her in Independence, Texas.

Kat McNamara has already had an incredible career in superhero and supernatural shows, adding a hit western to her resume continues her streak of success on television. Though her run in the Arrowverse came to an end, McNamara played Mia Smoak across Arrow, The Flash, Batwoman, and Supergirl, thanks to the monumental “Crisis on Infinite Earths” cross-over. For now the beautiful star appears content on the small screen, but at some point, she’ll likely see if her run of success will carry over to a big-budget, big-screen feature.
