It has been no secret that Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively have done almost everything they could to keep their three daughters out of the press. The power Hollywood couple is notoriously protective of their three girls, wanting to keep private, and only recently have come out and spoken about them, much less shown their faces in public.
Slowly, though, fans are seeing a little bit more as it concerns the girls, which has fans asking about the middle girl, Inez Reynolds.
INEZ REYNOLDS WAS BORN IN NEW YORK CITY IN 2016
Young Inez Reynolds was born on September 30, 2016 in New York City, meaning Ryan and Blake’s middle child just recently turned 6. Very little is known about Inez except for the fact that there had been some early confusion about how to spell her name properly.
When she was first born, neither Reynolds nor Lively confirmed their second daughter’s name spelling, so when a number of publications began to spell Inez with an “s,” Lively finally had to make the correction.
She spoke with PEOPLE, trying to clear up the misconception. “I had a new baby, Inez, with a ‘z’ even though everyone says it’s with an ‘s.’ I don’t know why, please tell Wikipedia.” Of course, Lively was good-natured about the misspelling.
INEZ REYNOLDS IS THE MIDDLE CHILD OF RYAN REYNOLDS AND BLAKE LIVELY
The dynamic, according to Inez Reynolds’ father, is an interesting one. What he is referring to is the fact that he is surrounded by all females in his family. It is in stark contrast to how Reynolds grew up in Canada, surrounded by three older brothers.
Inez Reynolds, though, has two sisters, one older and one younger. Her older sister is James and she is Inez’s elder by two years, born in 2014, while her younger sister, Betty, was born in 2019. If things weren’t already interesting, Reynolds and Lively recently announced that baby number four was on the way.
In fact, Inez Reynolds’ mom took to her Instagram to show off just how pregnant she was, making her pregnancy announcement official, while also scolding the paparazzi for how intrusive they are becoming. She captioned her 10 Instagram pictures with:
“Here are photos of me pregnant in real life so the 11 guys waiting outside my home for a 🦄 sighting will leave me alone. You freak me and my kids out. Thanks to everyone else for all the love and respect and for continuing to unfollow accounts and publications that share photos of children. You have all the power against them. And thank you to the media who have a “No Kids Policy”. You all make all the difference 🙏♥️. Much love! Xxb.”
Her posting prompted a quick response from Blake Lively’s half-sister, Robyn, (same mother, different father), who commented on her sister’s post by saying, “Makes me angry you have to share such private photos to try and regain your privacy… I love you 💕 and I hope these A-holes back off.”
So, while Inez Reynolds is the middle child, she won’t be for much longer. With Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively trying to remain completely private with their daughters, we have yet to discover if the new baby will be a boy or a girl. We also don’t know if either parent has a preference at this point.
INEZ REYOLDS HAS A “DARK SIDE” OR SO SAYS HER FATHER
Ryan Reynolds appears to be on to his middle daughter’s game. He went on Live with Kelly and Ryan a few years back to discuss his daughters, pointing out first that his daughter, 2 years old at the time, was developing a scary personality. Reynolds went on to elaborate.
“She’s super into villains,” he said at the time of Inez. “We watch Beauty and the Beast and her favorite character is Gaston.” He didn’t stop there, bringing in his daughter’s pediatrician. “Our pediatrician, when she met Inez, she said, ‘Oh, this one’s shady,’”
No, Reynolds didn’t stop there when it came to describing Inez Reynolds. He continued, “Even the other day, when we were traveling back home, we were at the airport and out of our whole family she’s the only one that got the secondary security pat down at 2 years old. She just takes it like a hard-earned felon.”
Thankfully (or maybe not), this “shady” streak doesn’t affect just Inez Reynolds. According to Lively, her eldest daughter James has some of that personality as well. She explained to Harper’s Bazaar that when James was only 1 year old, she was already showing her true colors. “My kid is playing with explosive devices — I don’t know where she found them — sticking them in our dog’s ear,” she joked. “She already knows how to drywall because she puts holes in the wall.”
So far there hasn’t been any word on if Betty has these same traits. One needs to wonder just how the new baby will fare. Maybe Reynolds and Lively will get lucky.
RYAN REYNOLDS AND BLAKE LIVELY MET ON THE SET OF GREEN LANTERN
So, we know that Inez Reynolds has two famous parents, but do we know how said parents found each other? Blake Lively first met Ryan Reynolds on the set of Green Lantern, a film that has been routinely panned by critics and audiences alike. Before the two met, Reynolds had already been in a relationship with Alanis Morissette, to the point where the couple got engaged. The engagement lasted a couple of years before they called it off.
Reynolds then met and fell for Scarlett Johansson. They were engaged in May 2008 and got married in September of that same year. A little over two years later, they both announced their separation and eventual divorce.
Reynolds was still legally married when he met Blake Lively on the Green Lantern set. They did, though, wait until October 2011 before they began to date. By that time, Reynolds and Johansson’s divorce was finalized.
The couple dated for almost a year before they married, saying their vows on September 9, 2012. Since that time, they have had a very public relationship, but for all the good reasons. Reynolds, as you may have seen, has a very playful personality and he shows that on occasion in his social media posts, giving Lively a hard time or one thing or another.
But Inez Reynolds’ mother has learned and caught on fast. She can definitely hold her own when going back and forth with her husband on social media to hilarious results. Like the time she wished Reynolds a happy birthday by saying she “picked a good one” and posted a picture of her with her finger up Reynolds’ nose.

If anything, Inez Reynolds, her sisters, and the baby on the way are growing up in a fun-loving household. They have parents who are supremely protective but also understand the nature of the business. Good for them and even better for the children.
