There’s nothing like pulling off a good surprise party, and that’s exactly what Gal Gadot’s family did for her birthday. It turns out that even Wonder Woman herself isn’t immune to a well-planned surprise, as Gadot literally shakes with surprise in the Instagram video. Check out her happy reaction below:

Gal Gadot quickly regains her composure once she realizes what’s happening and before giving her husband, Jaron Varsano, a quick peck. Judging by Varsano’s reaction and lack of surprise, he clearly had some part in planning the event. Kudos to Gadot’s husband and family for pulling off the party, as surprising someone without giving it away isn’t always the easiest thing to do.

Gal Gadot is certainly no stranger to surprises, as she surprised everyone when she made a cameo in the recent DC movie Shazam! Fury of the Gods. After James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the DCU and axed Henry Cavill from the Superman role, fans have been wondering if we would continue to see Gadot in the role. After her Shazam 2 appearance, the answer to that question is seemingly — maybe?

While James Gunn hasn’t explicitly said that Gal Gadot wouldn’t be Wonder Woman anymore, the Patty Jenkins-directed Wonder Woman 3 was removed from the development schedule. Gunn has also said that he wants to pursue more Wonder Woman stories in the future, but Paradise Lost, the TV series set in Themyscira, is the only project still on the slate. That series takes place before Wonder Woman is born, so Gadot obviously won’t be showing up there.

While the Shazam 2 cameo may give fans hope that Gal Gadot would continue to play the role in the future, her cameo from The Flash was cut. Which certainly makes the situation less clear-cut. It’s possible that The Flash already has too much going on, so including a Wonder Woman cameo might have been just a little too much.

Whether Gal Gadot has a future in the DCU or not, we can at least look forward to seeing her in a ton of new projects in the future. Gadot has four projects on her slate that she is not only starring in but also producing with her company Pilot Wave that she started with her husband. These projects include the films Cleopatra, Irene Sendler, Heart of Stone, and the currently untitled TV series about Hedy Lamarr.

While her Pilot Wave company isn’t producing it, Gal Gadot is also set to star in the live-action Disney remake of Snow White as the Evil Queen. That film stars Rachel Zegler in the titular role and will be directed by Marc Webb. Snow White is expected to hit theaters on March 22, 2024.

However, we won’t have to wait until next year to see Gal Gadot in a new project. Gadot is starring in the aforementioned Heart of Stone, which is set to come out on August 11. The plot is being kept under wraps, but it’s billed as a spy thriller that co-stars Jamie Dornan and Alia Bhatt.
