Gal Gadot is seeing herself caught in the crosshairs of internet backlash after she tweeted a statement regarding the escalating violence taking place between Israel and Palestine. The Wonder Woman star once served in the Israel Defense Force (IDF) and her position has caused many people online to question her beliefs and stance during this moment.

As previously stated, Gal Gadot did serve in the Israel Defense Force and has not been shy about her service. This has led many to wonder just what her stance is when it comes to the issues involving Palestine and the feelings of Israel being an occupying force in the country. It is an undeniably difficult issue that requires far more time, nuance, and knowledge than we have to give. The actress is already on board for a third Wonder Woman film as well as a number of projects like a new version of Cleopatra, the upcoming Netflix action blockbuster Red Notice with Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson, and a number of other projects like a spy thriller and a sci-fi drama. She has even been rumored to join the Star Wars franchise after her Wonder Woman collaborator Patty Jenkins hopped on board to direct the upcoming Rogue Squadron. Will this recent controversy put a stop to any of these projects?
It is hard to say. The fact that Gal Gadot was a member of the Israel Defense Force was never something that was being hidden from the general public or her entertainment collaborators. She has been very open and proud of her service in the IDF.
