Cher Starting Hilarious New Food Brand

Cher is launching a gelato brand called Cherlato

Cher has already conquered the world of pop music, so now she’s moving on to the world of delicious desserts. The singer took to social media to announce she’s launching a gelato brand that seems to be cleverly dubbed ‘Cherlato’ (via The Hollywood Reporter).

While she didn’t officially announce the name of the dessert company, she posted a brief video set to her beloved song “Believe” that featured an ice cream truck decorated with her face and emblazoned with the word ‘Cherlato.

She also took to Twitter (or X, or whatever you wanna call it), where her name quickly started trending thanks to the exciting and sort of hilarious announcement. If you had Cher starting a gelato brand on your 2023 bingo card, congrats on filling that oddly specific square.

As for music, the singer confirmed earlier this year that she is planning on making two albums and that some of the songs are collaborations with her then-boyfriend Alexander Edwards.

In addition to gelato, Cher is also planning on making two more albums

While it’s great news to hear that Cher is gifting the world with more music in the near future, it seems like she is fully in her side-quest era with this dessert venture. As with anything she does, it seems likely that the Cherlato brand is going to be pretty popular. Hopefully, she can keep the wordplay puns going and name all the flavors after her hit songs.

Twitter users certainly had fun making their own punny contributions to potential flavors that Cher could add to her gelato rotation, with “If I Could Turn Back Lime” and “Believe in Life After Rum” being some early highlights.

Social media users had a good time coming up with gelato flavors for Cher like “If I Could Turn Back Lime” and “Believe in Life After Rum”.

The singer herself is remaining fairly tight-lipped on the new venture, other than confirming that it is indeed a real thing. It’ll be interesting to find out more about this venture as she gets ready to launch it officially.

While we wait to hear more about this gelato brand, hopefully, Cher gives us some insights into when we can hear the next studio album from her. The singer hasn’t released a new album since 2018’s Dancing Queen, which was her 26th album. That album was, as the title might imply, a cover album of ABBA songs that Cher released shortly after her appearance in the 2018 ABBA-filled musical film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

Presumably, Cher’s next album will be original music. The last time she released an album of original music was back in 2013 when she released Closer to the Truth. Unless she releases her new album before September, it will be over a decade since we last heard an original album from her.

It’ll be interesting to see if Cher decides to tour alongside the release of her album. The last time she was on tour was in 2020 when she had both her Classic Cher residency in several cities and when she embarked on her Here We Go Again world tour. Both her residency and her world tour were interrupted and subsequently canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Whether we get new music from Cher soon or not, we should at least be getting some gelato. It seems like her gelato truck is ready and raring to deliver some sweet treats to the masses. If she does end up using an ice-cream truck to distribute her gelato, hopefully, they’ve recorded an ice-cream truck version of “Believe” to really complete the picture.
