Best Fast Food Desserts

When it comes to satisfying that sweet tooth, you will find that some of the fast food chains out there have quality options. Heck, some are as iconic as it gets. Whether it’s ice cream, shakes, or even some baked goods, these places seem to have it all. Let’s take a look at the best fast-food dessert options going. Some of these have been around for decades.

7. Cookies & Cream Milkshake (Chik-Fil-A)

Chik-fil-a might not be where you would think dessert happens, but that would be a mistake. The Cookies & Cream Milkshake is a quality option that combines crushed chocolate sandwich cookies with soft serve ice cream for a near-perfect mixture. The crunch combined with the smoothness will almost make you forget about their sandwiches.

6. Soft-Serve Cone (Burger King)

Sometimes keeping things simple is the best way to go when it comes to dessert and that’s what Burger King does with its Soft Serve cone. With an expert swirl that lets you know you are getting something great, the creamy vanilla ice cream hits all the right spots right after powering down a BK meal. As we get into summer it will be clear why this one is such a hit.

5. Cinnamon Twists (Taco Bell)

Not every dessert needs to be ice cream-based (though it certainly helps). The Cinnamon Twists at Taco Bell are a case in point with the crunchy, sugar-coated pastries hitting the spot after you make a stop at this Tex-Mex favorite. In the style of churros, but pared down to simple bites, the cinnamon flavors come through with every warm bite. The textures most definitely play here.

4. Frosty (Wendy's)

The Frosty at Wendy’s is a beloved treat that some folks make regular pit stops for, completely skipping the rest of the chain’s menu. And it’s easy to see why. It’s an almost iconic menu option in the great fast food landscape. With just the right mix of a milkshake and soft-serve ice cream, the Frosty makes for a near-perfect dessert on any occasion. Heck, some daring folks have even been known to dip fries into it (which you should try next time).

3. Apple Pie (McDonald's)

Get a little taste of nostalgia when it comes to your next fast-food dessert choice. That’s what you get with the McDonald’s Apple Pie which has been on the menu since the early 1960s. It’s got the tangy apple pie filling with cinnamon flavoring as well, all in a warm and tasty (and simple) treat that hits the spot.

2. Blizzard (Dairy Queen)

Would be hard to make a best of for fast food chain desserts and leave off the Blizzard from Dairy Queen. The stop’s most popular offering, the Blizzard allows customers to pick and choose their flavors throughout, giving a chance to pile in some of the best candy and topping options there are. Crushing it since 1985, the Blizzard is a go-to for the dessert crowd because of how customizable it is in general and just how great it tastes.

1. McFlurry (McDonald's)

Is the McFlurry from McDonald’s a timeless dessert? It sure feels like it. The Golden Arches has offered this for about 30 years now and over those decades its been among the best offerings their menu has. Mix in Oreos or M&Ms if you like, or just keep it plain, it’s all good. The McFlurry has been a staple for fast food lovers for what seems like forever and it’s bound to be around for decades to come.
