Amber Heard Getting Multi-Million Dollar Deal As Revenge Against Johnny Depp?
Amber Heard may seem like she is destitue, as she was seen shopping at TJ Maxx, however, rumors are that she has landed a lucrative book deal.
Lock your bedroom doors! Amber Heard is back, and she isn’t going to let her defamation case loss to ex-Johnny Depp be the last word on her career. According to a report by OK! Magazine, the 36-year-old actress has just lined up a major book deal, one that could not only help repair her broken public image but also bring in millions in much-needed income. Despite earning a $2 million payday for the upcoming Aquaman 2, Heard’s attorney told The Today Show’s Savanna Guthrie that the Austin, Texas native cannot afford to pay the judgment against her. That amount could be about $8.3 million, after the $2 million she won in a claim against Depp’s attorney. Heard will reportedly also appeal the decision, Elaine Charlson Bredehoft said in the interview earlier this month.
Over the weekend, TMZ posted a video of Heard and her sister Whitney Henriquez shopping for clothes at discount chain TJ Maxx in Bridgehampton, New York, seemingly indicating her current financial situation has humbled her previously extravagant lifestyle. The New York Post reports that the average home in Bridgehampton goes for around $3.8 million, so she isn’t exactly slumming it right now. Even so, commenters on the TMZ video aren’t buying it. Many have claimed that this is merely another PR move by Amber Heard, a staged photo-op to win sympathy.
It isn’t all bad news for Amber Heard. According to a report by Inside The Magic, Heard will actually get additional screen time in the upcoming Aquaman sequel, titled Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. This goes against recent reporting and rumors that she was being cut from the film completely. During the trial, Amber herself claimed her role in the film had been cut significantly because of the trial, but in the past week, she vigorously denied claims she wouldn’t appear at all.
A book deal could mean millions for Heard, who “considers her career in Hollywood over,” according to an insider close to her, who spoke to OK! Magazine. While no details of a book deal are known, including who might publish it, the insider claims Amber Heard is “already in talks and is excited about it. At this point, she has nothing to lose and wants to tell all.” Of course, writing a book – which would likely repeat many of the accusations she was sued over – could get her sued again. However, she claims her notes from her therapy sessions during her time with Johnny Depp – which were not allowed to be admitted into evidence – supported her accusations, and would have resulted in a different verdict, had the jury read them.
She also must contend with a heavy negative response from the public. According to an anonymous juror in the Depp vs. Heard defamation suit, who came forward to discuss the case with ABC News, the jury just didn’t buy any of Heard’s claims. The juror said he and other members of the jury did not believe she was being truthful on the stand, even when she broke down in tears. Jurors even used the term “crocodile tears” to describe Amber Heard, saying they noticed she would quickly change emotions, crying one moment, but being serious the next.
