Tony Revolori of Spider-Man fame, and Samara Weaving who recently starred in The Valet, are the latest additions to the cast of Scream 6. The pair joins a stellar that includes Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega who reprise their roles from the fifth installment. Courteney Cox steps back into the shoes of legacy character Gale Weathers. Hayden Panettiere returns to the slasher franchise as Kirby Reed from Scream 4. Dermot Mulroney, Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, Josh Segarra, and Henry Czerny also appear in the film.

Scream 6 is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from the filmmaking collective known as Radio Silence. They will work from a script co-written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. Original writer and creator Kevin Williamson returns as executive producer, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The story follows the survivors of the latest Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter in New York City. Filming began in Montreal, Canada on June 9th under the working title “Blackmore.” But some set photos contradicted that information showing “Scream II” as the temporary moniker.

Unfortunately, franchise star Neve Campbell won’t be reprising her role as Sidney Prescott in Scream 6. Rumors of her exit began to leak on the convention circuit, with the actress confirming the news to Deadline soon after. In her statement, she explained how her contract and salary negotiations with Paramount Pictures had stalled. “As a woman, I’ve had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream. I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise.”

Campbell added that the decision to move on has been very difficult. She also thanked all her Scream fans who’ve been incredibly supportive over the years. “I’m forever grateful to you and to what this franchise has given me over the past 25 years,” the slasher superstar said. Scream 6 will be the first film in the franchise to not feature the actress. Jasmin Savoy Brown, as well as former Scream stars David Arquette, Emma Roberts, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, and Jamie Kennedy, also expressed their support for Campbell’s decision and praised her contributions to the franchise.

The characters Weaving and Revolori will be playing have not been disclosed. However, based on their previous acting credits, the stars are a great addition to Scream 6. Weaving previously worked with Radio Silence on the 2019 horror Ready or Not, and can currently be seen in the Hulu film The Valet. She also starred opposite Nicole Kidman in the limited series Nine Perfect Strangers. The 30-year-old’s next project is the Stephen Williams drama Chevalier with Lucy Boynton and Minnie Driver.

Meanwhile, Revolori is best known for his collaboration with Wes Anderson on movies like The Grand Budapest, The French Dispatch, and the upcoming Asteroid City. Most notably, he stars as Flash Thompson in the most recent trilogy of Spider-Man films. The 26-year-old also appears in the Apple series Servant and will soon be seen in the Disney+ series Willow. Scream 6 is set to hit theaters on March 31, 2023.
