Star Wars: Episode VII Revisits A Classic Scene And Possible First Footage

fb share tweet share

Star WarsThere’s been a lot of talk surrounding Star Wars: Episode VII about how the new film, and everything the new Disney-owned Lucasfilm produces from now on, will connect and fit into the larger Star Wars universe. From what has been said, there’s also a large emphasis being placed on capturing the feel of the original trilogy in the new works, something the prequels failed to do in any way. If the latest Episode VII reports we’re hearing are true, they’re definitely going for that, maybe by even recreating one legendary scenes, or at least something very similar. There’s also a little bit of clarification of the plot, as well as what could be the first look at footage from the actual film.

Here’s where we warn you that there are SPOILERS lurking beyond here. It feels like we’ve entered an era where the boogey man has hiding under your bed has been replaced by spoilers hiding on the Internet, but maybe that just means we’re nerds and we’re growing up.

Firefly, Guardians Of The Galaxy, And Star Wars Get A Weapon-Friendly Lego Mash-Up

Comic books are usually the places where mega-franchise crossovers happen, but every once in a while, the Lego world is a hot spot for hero worship. In the video above, three of cinema’s coolest space-faring adventurers have gathered together to talk about the proper way to handle enemy gunfire. (Or blaster-fire or whatever.) Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Star-Lord, Firefly‘s Captain Mal, and Star Wars‘ Han Solo are kicking back for some drinking and storytelling, with the conversation focused on one of the time-honored questions that good heroes always ask themselves: Is it better to shoot first or not?

Roger-Moore-james-bond-BWNews about J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII seems to come in waves. We won’t hear anything for a bit, then every day for a week there are rumors and set photos and reports and concept art. Some of it has come from unlikely sources, but this latest tidbit comes from perhaps the most unlikely yet, James Bond. Or at least from a James Bond, in this case Roger Moore.

There’s nothing super SPOILER-y in this, but if you’re sensitive to such things, you may want to steer clear.

star wars episode viiWhat do you think you know about Star Wars: Episode VII? You know that Harrison Ford is returning to reprise his role of Han Solo, but do you really know that? I mean, what if he’s playing an evil replicant version of Han Solo and J.J. Abrams & Co. are just dicking around with the fans? Which brings us to a set photo, the latest of many, that shows off what looks to be Adam Driver, the Girls star who was cast in a role that many suspect is one of the film’s villains. The thing is, he was recently spotted wearing an X-Wing pilot suit.

Star Wars: Another Classic Character May Get His Own Standalone Movie

fb share tweet share

star warsI hope you’re ready for a serious Star Wars infusion, because like it or not, you’re going to get one. After buying out Lucasfilm, Disney has a definite plan for the franchise, which includes the animated series Star Wars Rebels, films like J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, and even a handful of standalone movies that will focus on already existing characters. Fan favorites Boba Fett and Han Solo are supposedly going to be the first up in this last category, but you can add one more name to that list, because the latest reports say that Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi is going to get his own movie as well.

According to the fan site Making Star Wars, they’ve heard from their sources that the venerable Jedi Knight, and mentor to both Luke Skywalker and his father Anakin (that one didn’t go so hot) could be up for his own movie. This is, of course, totally unverified at this point, so who knows if might actually happen, but if this report is true, it’s at least a strong possibility.

Star Wars: Episode VII: This Is What Luke Skywalker Has Been Up To Recently

fb share tweet share

star warsOver the last few days it feels like all I’ve written about is Star Wars: Episode VII. Between connections to Star Wars: Rebels, set photos of that one ship, and those even newer set photos of that badass other ship (see, I’m trying to be a good sport and not spoil anything above the jump), there’s been quite a bit to discuss. And that continues, as we’ve heard some possible news about whereabouts one of the returning franchise vets who may be missing in action (if you’ve kept up with the scuttlebutt, you know who I’m talking about).

As per usual, there are possible SPOILERS for Episode VII beyond this point. You’ve been warned, continue with caution. Also, take what you read beyond here with a grain of salt. Nothing is official, and nothing is likely to become official until we actually see the damn movie on December 18, 2015. Keep that in mind.
