Star Wars: Episode VII: This Is What Daisy Ridley’s Character May Look Like

fb share tweet share

DaisyThus far we’ve only seen bits and pieces from Star War: Episode VII. For example, we know they filmed on the picturesque Irish isle Skellig Michael, we’ve seen peeks at some of the practical effects they’ll be using (like that little puppet guy, a different take on the X-Wing Fighter, and half a Millennium Falcon), and even some concept designs for what fashionable stormtrooper and Han Solo could be wearing come winter 2015. There have been unsubstantiated rumblings about franchise newcomer Daisy Ridley’s character and role, and while we don’t know much on that front, now we have a better idea of what her outfits may look like.

We’ll probably be discussing some potentially SPOILER-Y things beyond this point. Make of that information what you will.

Star Wars: Episode VII: Did J.J. Abrams Just Reveal The Empire’s Presence?

fb share tweet share

star warsJ.J. Abrams may keep things locked tight in his “Mystery Box,” but that doesn’t mean he’s not going to open it up from time to time and offer fans the most obscure, miniscule glimpses inside of Star Wars: Episode VII. And he’s done it again.

There may be SPOILERS for Episode VII in this, but probably not. Still, if you’re sensitive to such things, you may want to sit this one out.

Boba Fett’s Slave 1 Makes For A Pretty Spectacular Lego Set

Boba1The Star Wars movies are full of iconic spaceships. Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon. The Empire’s massive Star Destroyers. The rival X-wing and TIE fighters. But Boba Fett’s badass Slave 1 has always been one of my favorites, and it was easily the Star Wars toy vehicle I played with the most as a kid. (Granted, I never could afford the Falcon, but still.) And given that Boba Fett is such a fan favorite, even in spite of relatively little screen time, I’m guessing I’m not the only one who loves his sweet ride, even if it does kind of look like an iron. But it looks positively awesome as the star of an upcoming Star Wars Lego set (via Brickset).

Star Wars Rebels Offers Up A Four-Minute Sneak Peek

fb share tweet share

Moving forward, everything Disney and Lucasfilm produce is going to be a part of the official Star Wars canon, and the first piece we’re going to get is the upcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels. Okay, the novel Star Wars: A New Dawn (which tells the story of how two of the Rebels crew first comes together) is first up, but reading is hard. Though we’re still a few months off from seeing this, we now have another sneak peek of the series.

Set in the “Dark Period” that falls between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, Rebels tells the story of the seeds of what will ultimately become the Rebel Alliance of the original trilogy. As the Galactic Empire tightens its grip on the galaxy, pockets of rebellion appear, including the one featured in Rebels.

Star Wars Rebels Short Is Not What You Think

fb share tweet share

Before we even get to the new animated series Star Wars Rebels, the first official post-Disney buyout addition to the canon, it looks like we’re going to get to know the main core of characters. Lucasfilm has released a stream of shorts, each one focusing primarily on one piece of the main group—we’ve hung out with the sassy astromech Chopper, the Mandalorian graffiti artist Sabine, and muscle-bound badass Zeb—and now they’re back with another.

Titled “Not What You Think,” this three-minute short gives you the chance to spend some time with Ezra Bridger, and get to know the new addition to the Star Wars universe. Though, in the grand scheme of things, he fits into the Luke Skywalker mold, there’s also a bit of Han Solo to Ezra as well. Rebels is set in the between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, where the Empire is tightening its sinister grip on that far, far away galaxy, and there are seeds of rebellion popping up in the outer rims.

Star WarsHey, did you know that there’s another Star Wars movie being made? I know, we were as shocked and surprised as you. Apparently the guy who created that Alias show (remember that?) is directing it. News is sparse, but a hot-off-the-presses report has a bunch of fresh rumors for you to mull over.

It should go without saying, but I’m going to throw this out there anyway, there are potential SPOILERS for Star Wars: Episode VII beyond this point. Use that information as you will.
