According to Deadline, Tucker Carlson’s show is coming back in a big way, but not on Fox News, from which he was recently fired. Citing his frustration over Fox News‘ lack of journalistic integrity, Tucker Carlson is taking his show to Twitter, which he considers to be one of the last remaining outlets that still encourages free speech. Though no formal launch date has been announced at the time of this article, Carlson has a sign-up form on his website that will keep his loyal followers up to date on any pertinent updates regarding the new show.

To say that Tucker Carlson is a polarizing figure in news media isn’t a stretch by any means, but there is some credence to his statements that news outlets such as Fox News are deceptive by their very nature. Though he didn’t name Fox News directly in the video that he posted to his Twitter on May 9, 2023, it’s clear that he’s taking issue with his former network. In his video, he stated that news outlets don’t necessarily operate under the pretext of bald-faced lies, but rather withhold additional information that is pertinent to whatever story they may be reporting, which is a deceptive practice, to say the least.

In other words, Tucker Carlson stated that most news networks lie by omission, and not fully laying out all of the facts for any given news story. He went on to say that if a news personality does attempt to pursue the truth in its fullest form, there will be consequences for trying to exercise this journalistic right. He claims he has experienced this first-hand by being fired from Fox News himself, with his last show airing on April 21, 2023.

Whether you’re a fan of Tucker Carlson or not, he did raise some valid points in the video he posted to his Twitter on April 26, just a few days after his exit from Fox News. But once again, he was very careful not to name his former network while laying out his case, and we can only speculate that this was for legal reasons.

In the April 26, video which ended with an ominous “see you soon,” Tucker Carlson laid out his grievances with the modern news media landscape by stating how “unbelievably stupid” most of the debate topics you see on television are. He went on to mention that the bigger topics that are actually worthy of coverage (natural resources, civil liberties, emerging science) often don’t get the spotlight on news outlets despite their importance and asserted that debates on such topics are not permitted in American media.

Though it has been rumored that Tucker Carlson and Elon Musk are working together to launch this new show, Musk went on record stating that there was there wasn’t any sort of deal or contract in place. Musk elaborated on this by saying that Carlson will simply be using Twitter as a mechanism to deliver his show to the public, and that the same terms of services and monetization practices will apply to him as they do to any other Twitter user.

As for the content and format of Tucker Carlson’s new show, we’re still waiting for updates. But it’s safe to say that we will soon be exposed to Tucker Carlson’s version of free speech as he sees it, and we will see it on Twitter.
