The Bear Season 3’s Fate Decided By FX
Did FX renew The Bear for a Season 3? Does a bear sh—well, you get the idea. As Variety reports, the hit restaurant comedy has been picked up for a third season, much to the delight of fans everywhere.
Following 2 Hit Outings, The Bear Has Been Picked Up For A Third Season
“The Bear, which wowed audiences in its first season only to achieve even greater heights in season two, has become a cultural phenomenon,” said Nick Grad, president of FX Entertainment, in a statement regarding The Bear‘s Season 3 renewal.
The FX exec went on to stress that the studio was extremely “proud” to work with The Bear creator Christopher Storer and the rest of his team on a Season 3. Grad also said that he and his “partners at Hulu” were just as excited as the fans to see what happens in the next chapter of The Bear.
Jeremy Allen And The Cast Of The Bear Helped Make The Show A Success
The Bear surprised everyone at FX when it became a massive hit following its Hulu debut in June of 2022. The Bear owes much of its success to its talented cast, which includes Andor‘s Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Ayo Edebirir, the voice of April O’Neil in this year’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
Of course, none of the show’s success would have been possible without the help of lead actor Jeremy Allen White. White honed his skills for years playing the second oldest Gallagher Lip in the American adaptation of Shameless before becoming The Bear‘s Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto. White, along with his talented co-stars, are one of the biggest reasons that The Bear was picked up for a Season 3.
What’s In Store For Season 3
As far as what The Bear Season 3 will look like, showrunner Christopher Storer has teased a few ideas. One is that Ayo Edebiri, who plays The Bear‘s Sydney Adamu will be directing a few Season 3 episodes. The showrunner referred to her as “an important set of fresh eyes.” implying that the actor’s unique perspective as someone both in front of and behind the camera will help her to bring some of that “new car smell” back to the series in its third season.
Will Carmy And Claire Reconcile?
Elsewhere, The Bear Season 3 has the unenviable task of picking up the lingering plot threads from the series’ explosive season 2 finale. Are Carmy and Claire truly broken up for good after the former’s walk-in fridge tirade about not wanting to spend time on “enjoyment and amusement” with her? While they may reconcile somewhere down the line, we can only assume that Carmy is starting off The Bear Season 3 single.
What Happens With Marcus?
More concerning is Marcus and his ailing mother. The finale showed us that while Marcus was busy bathing in the success of The Bear, he was also ignoring his phone, which was full of texts from his mother’s caretaker. Should we assume, based on the volume of messages, that she’s passed away? How will that affect Marcus when it comes to the restaurant in Season 3? We can’t imagine Marcus is going to start the season on a high note.
Will Syd And Carmy Become More Than Friends?
One thing fans can probably rule out, however, is a romance between Syd and Carmy. According to Ayo Edebiri, Syd + Carmy isn’t something that’s a part of their “thought process” when filming The Bear. So don’t expect and sparks to fly between the two leads when The Bear Season 3 finally airs.
As of right now, FX hasn’t released any details regarding when fans can expect The Bear Season 3 to air.
