Errors Of The Human Body Trailer Finds Terror In The Little Things

Regardless of your thoughts about whether we as a species should be tinkering around with cloning or genetic engineering, there’s no question it’s fertile ground for cautionary tales. The theme of humanity mucking about and playing God can be traced back to at least Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, which some consider the birth of science fiction. Now a new film called Errors of the Human Body is tapping into the same vein mined by Frankenstein, Splice, and many others. Check out the trailer below, then we’ll talk more after the jump.
Errors of the Human Body was written and directed by Eron Sheean, one of the writers of the apocalyptic thriller The Divide. It’s Sheean’s directorial debut, and it brings some pretty impressive background to the table. Sheean developed Errors over the past five years, in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden, Germany. Not coincidentally, the Planck Institute also serves as the setting for the film. Here’s the official summary:
Dr Geoff Burton takes up a position at a new institute in wintry Dresden, Germany. His contribution to a former colleague’s important project, a human regeneration gene, has the potential to make something miraculous out of a personal tragedy that has haunted him for years. Errors of the Human Body is a psychological thriller about one man’s quest for redemption from his own disturbing past, set within the mysterious world of genetic engineering.
Errors of the Human Body is currently in post-production and without an official release date, but this may be one to keep your eye on.
