The later seasons of My Hero Academia have been particularly well-regarded for exploring societal upheaval, the ambiguity of the battle between good and evil, and the immense burden of being a hero. The sixth season, which aired from October 2022 to March 2023, covered the “Paranormal Liberation War” and “Dark Hero” arcs of the manga and received positive reviews.

My Hero Academia began as a popular manga series written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi. The manga has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since July 2014. After volume 40 hit the shelves, the official X account announced that the series had surpassed 100 million copies in circulation. To mark this milestone, a new illustration by Kohei Horikoshi was shared, much to the delight of fans.

Fans of My Hero Academia can expect twice the excitement in 2024, with the release of the series’ fourth feature film, My Hero Academia: You’re Next, on August 2 in Japan. The movie, which sees increased input from series creator Kohei Horikoshi, centers around a mistaken identity situation involving a character that looks like All Might.
