Mark Wahlberg’s next movie is about to hit Paramount+. The final trailer has just released, promising a wild science fiction movie that is packed full of action, Mission Impossible style. The trailer both begins and ends off with Mark Wahlberg driving a motorcycle off a cliff, landing on an airplane, and then driving a sword into the plane’s wing to keep himself safely on the outside of the plane. Yes, you’re going to need to see this for yourself.

This trailer really plays up the action elements and the characters for Infinite. The story will first meet Mark Wahlberg as a man who believes he is having hallucinations and has been diagnosed with schizophrenia. He’ll soon learn that actually, there are some people called Infinites who remember all of their past lives. His hallucinations are these memories trying to unlock, but Wahlberg’s mind is still not letting all of his memories through, until he meets up with this crew of Infinites that will help him unlock them.

Naturally, over several lifetimes, the Infinites have also acquired some enemies and we see a hint of that in the trailer. Mostly, this trailer focuses on the action aspects and explaining what will make the characters cool to watch. So, it’s explained to us that Mark Wahlberg’s character is unlocking his memories and discovering every skill he has learned over his many years of life. If you need 10,000 hours to get good at something, how great could you get at it when you’ve lived for a millennia?

Mark Wahlberg’s Infinite co-stars Dylan O’Brien, Rupert Friend, Sophie Cookson, and Toby Jones. Mostly in this trailer, we get a good look at the characters played by Chiwetel Ejiofor and Jason Mantzoukas. Chiwetel Ejiofor is serious and tortured. Jason Mantzoukas steals the trailer with funny lines, letting Mark Wahlberg know what’s happening to him and making comments about how he doesn’t think he likes Wahlberg during this lifetime. Jason Mantzoukas has earned a reputation as a funny actor in movies like The Dictator and The House, but he’s possibly most well-known for his hilarious role as Adrian Pimento on the TV series Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

In recent decades, Mark Wahlberg has tended towards comedies and action films. He was in Ted and its sequel. In 2013, he was hard to move in Pain & Gain. More recently, we saw the actor in Spenser Confidential, Instant Family, and Daddy’s Home 2. While Infinite definitely leans more toward the action side of his tastes, he’s most recently been in some films that stray from his pattern. His recent film Joe Bell saw Wahlberg playing a father. His high school age son is tortured for being gay, and Walhberg goes on a crusade against bullying that leads to him walking along across the United States. It’s a more quiet and understated movie. Upcoming, he’s going to start in Stu, previously titled Father Stu. The movie is more of a passion project and has Mark Wahlberg actually gaining weight in order to play his character.

It sounds like even if Mark Wahlberg is getting in the mood to expand the scope of his projects, he’ll still be around for these big action roles that his fans have come to know him for. Infinite will be available for streaming on Paramount+ on June 10, 2021.
