She has also made a name for herself with her affiliation with a “self-help group” accused of sex trafficking.

KRISTIN KREUK IS IN REACHER ON AMAZON

After the fallout from the NXIVM scandal, which we will get to shortly, it wasn’t clear whether Kristin Kreuk would still be able to find roles in Hollywood. Her name had clearly been through the ringer, even if she claimed no wrongdoing in the illegal organization.

Recently, she was cast in Reacher on Amazon. She plays Charlie Hubble, the wife of Marc Bendavid’s Paul, a banker who has to work with a drug cartel. While not a major role for the actress, it’s clearly a step in the right direction.

The show star Alan Ritchson who Kreuk had worked with before. That’s because he played Aquaman on Smallville.

KRISTIN KREUK WAS IN A SEX CULT

NXIVM was sold to the public as a multi-level marketing company that was founded by Keith Raniere.

In reality, NXIVM was a sex-cult that Raniere created and used members to lure others into the cult. Raniere was convicted of coercing female followers into sexual servitude where he also created a ritual where these female followers had his initials branded on to them.

Kristin Kreuk was a member of NXIVM for a few years, ending her relationship with them back in 2013. Her name was brought into it as she had been accused of recruiting sex slaves for Raniere when her Smallville former co-star Allison Mack was arrested for being a large part of the cult.

Kristin Kreuk maintained her innocence throughout her entire ordeal and to date, no charges have been pressed nor has there been any evidence to the contrary.

She made a statement to ELLE, which she also tweeted out, explaining her involvement to the group.

KRISTIN KREUK IS ON INSTAGRAM

Kristin Kreuk continues to work in Hollywood as she seems to have put NXIVM completely in her rearview. She’s fairly active on Instagram where she has 585K followers.

And she still keeps in touch with some of the less controversial members of the Smallville cast, every now and then. There’s Tom Welling appearing from time to time.

Plus, she went on Smallville’s Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside of You Podcast. This wasn’t her first time on the popular program which has often featured members of the cast.

SHE WAS A STAR ON SMALLVILLE AND EDGEWOOD

Kristin Kreuk made her TV debut as a 19-year old on the Canadian TV series Edgewood. The teenage soap opera was set at a Vancouver high school and followed the lives of high schoolers and all their trials and tribulations.

At that same time, Kreuk was able to get herself an agent, which then turned into her grabbing a part as Snow White in the TV movie Snow White: The Fairest of Them All. This also happened in 2001.

And if that was not enough, her agent sent over an audition tape to the writers/creators of Smallville, which she eventually landed. Filming on Smallville began in 2001, making Kreuk a very busy young actress.

Kristin Kreuk continued her hectic pace, filming both series’ at the same time, though her role on Edgewood diminished toward the end of the series five-season run.

During her time filming both series, Kristin Kreuk was also able to film a smaller role in her first feature film, the raunchy and many-times humorous teen flick EuroTrip. She played Fiona, the desire of one graduating male student dreams, who dumps him at graduation.

While Edgewood ended in 2005, Kristin Kreuk continued on as Lana Lang in the super-popular hit Superman show Smallville. The series ran for 10 seasons and while she maintained a prominent role in the series, Kreuk continued to find work outside the show. She was seen in the miniseries Earthsea as well as the feature Partition.

Kristin Kreuk continued to get work after Smallville ended in 2009. She got a recurring role on the TV series Chuck and then found herself on another mini-series playing Tirzah in the series Ben Hur.

She was in a couple more feature films (starred in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li) and then she found herself on another big TV series, this one was Beauty and the Beast. She played a detective who falls in love with an ex-soldier who was turned into a mechanically charged beast by the government.

The hit show ran for four seasons and Kristin Kreuk was in it for the entire 70-episode run. But life for Kreuk wasn’t all fun and roses as she got caught up with a self-help group calling themselves NXIVM.
