Jonathan Majors is set to begin his domestic abuse trial in court in late November this year, and Disney has yet to make any significant moves regarding the actor’s future with the company. Recently, Techopedi reported that a New York City judge denied Majors’ request to dismiss the case, solidifying the actor’s upcoming trial.

Jonathan Majors’s assault trial in New York City is moving forward next month after a judge denied the request to dismiss the case.

In March 2023, the Marvel star was arrested in New York City and charged with misdemeanor charges of assault, strangulation, and harassment after a domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

Apparently, Jabbari was upset after scoping out some questionable texts on Jonathan Majors’ phone, and a scuffle ensued when she attempted to look into the situation further.

Jonathan Majors stands to lose a lot if his trial goes the wrong way, as he currently has major deals with the Marvel Cinematic Universe to play Kang the Conqueror, the next big antagonist to wage war against the Avengers. He also has deals running to play Kang variants in the upcoming movies Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027).

As it stands, the charges faced by Jonathan Majors have already cost him a commercial deal with the United States Army, along with his representation with Entertainment 360 and the Lede Company.

However, Disney’s reaction regarding the actor’s upcoming trial has been somewhat surprising. Publically, only positive things have been stated concerning Jonathan Majors’ behavior on set.

The actor played a significant role on the hit show Loki, and Kasra Farahani (director of the latest Loki episode and production designer for both seasons of the show) spoke openly about the surprising nature of the charges.

Farahani said that everyone on set had a great experience with the actor. He praised Jonathan Majors for his notable positive chemistry with his costars Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson, stating that there was no drama on set and everyone worked well together.

As for Marvel, they have no plans of changing the course of Majors’s role as Kang the Conqueror, who stands to become a huge influence in upcoming Marvel Universe films. It seems (at least for now) that Jonathan Majors will have a place with Disney+ and Marvel for many years to come.

Who knows … Majors may even stand to benefit from a guilty verdict in the case, as it makes his villain status a bit more believable. However, Disney is ultimately hoping that the case doesn’t have much-staying power and will blow over as just a small blip in the actor’s career.

It’s more likely that Disney is watching and waiting to see how the whole situation pans out before making any big moves. If Jonathan Majors is found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, the company’s views on his ongoing contract may shift.

Regardless, the case has been quite a quagmire as of late, with accusations of tampering with evidence and defamation on the horizon. The courts have even requested information regarding another domestic case between Majors and Jabbari in London. If it is not delayed once again, the court will begin shedding light on the situation next month.
