Underrated Fast Food Options

When it comes to fast food chains, especially the most popular ones, fans and customers will often flock to the signature offerings. But the best burger and sandwich chains also have other menu options that got a bit more unnoticed and are definitely underrated.

Let’s take a look at the most overlooked and underrated menu options from the nation’s most popular fast-food chains.

Dairy Queen - Flamethrower Signature Stackburger

When you think of Dairy Queen the first things that come to mind are probably the Blizzards, and that would be correct. But you’d be making a mistake to overlook the Flamethrower Signature Stackburger from this chain. It’s two grilled patties, pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, and some spicy mayo all combined for one of the better fast food offerings you’ll find anywhere.

KFC - Famous Bowl

Need comfort food? Well then this is your stop. The KFC Famous Bowl combines mashed potatoes, crispy chicken pieces, corn, cheese, and gravy into one beautiful combination with the chain’s signature offerings all in one space. There is some concern KFC will remove this menu option now that popcorn chicken is going away, but it’s still available.

Subway - Italian B.M.T

Biggest, Meatiest, Tastiest. Shouldn’t that say it all? The Subway B.M.T. is one of the sandwich chains best menu options because it piles high some traditional favorites into foot-long goodness. There is pepperoni, salami, and ham and then all of the fixings which are made to order.

Wendy - Baconator Fries

The Baconator Burger is a popular Wendy’s offering but you might not have noticed that they have the Baconator Fries as well. Take your standard Wendy’s fries (which are already solid) and add on cheese, bacon, and ranch sauce for a meal that masks as a side.

Arby's - Loaded Curly Fries

Speaking of fries, Arby’s has its own offering which will make you want to pull over and stop in next time you pass one of their locations. These are a lot like Wendy’s Baconator Fries with the cheese, ranch dressing, and bacon and bring a ton of flavor to the menu.

McDonald's- Filet-O-Fish

It’s kind of amazing that the Filet-O-Fish has been around at McDonald’s as long as it has. The burger chain has been known for its, well, burgers since the place first started. But over the years they’ve added new pieces and this one has had staying power. The crispy fish patty has a slice of cheese and tartar sauce which makes for a simple but tasty menu option from the Golden Arches.

Chick-fil-A's Grilled Chicken Sandwich

Chick-fil-A has been ranked as having the best brand recognition and support among its fans. And though their classic chicken sandwich is the go-to popular option for folks hitting up the menu, don’t sleep on the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. It’s a marinated chicken breast, lettuce, and tomato on a toasted bun. It’s a bit healthier than some of the other options and there’s no sacrifice on taste.

Taco Bell - Cheesy Gordita Crunch

Yes, please. The Cheesy Gordita Crunch combines nearly everything Taco Bell does well into one menu option. There is soft flatbread filled with the beef, cheese, and lettuce but then the outside has the crunchy taco shell. It’s a fantastic combination that features both the hard and soft styles.

Wendy's - Spicy Chicken Nuggets

While some other fast food outfits might be a bit more “known” for their chicken nugget options, Wendy’s does these things right. The Spicy Chicken Nuggets are about as good as you’ll find on the menu. It’s the regular nuggets with a spicy kick that takes the whole thing up a notch.
