Last November, Sean “Diddy” Combs settled a federal lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who claimed the rapper assaulted her. Now, a 2016 surveillance video has been released showing events that match up with Ventura’s accusations. The video shows the rapper physically assaulting his then-girlfriend; viewer discretion is advised.

The video footage of the Diddy assault, gathered from various camera perspectives on March 5, 2016, seems to capture the rapper, producer, and entrepreneur amidst an altercation described in Ventura’s complaint. The incident purportedly took place at the former InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.

The video footage first shows Ventura exiting a hotel room and walking toward a hallway of elevators. Diddy follows quickly behind Ventura, holding a towel around his waist and only wearing socks. Diddy catches up to Ventura as she’s waiting for the elevator and physically assaults her in the hallway.

About four seconds pass between the two kicks, but Diddy’s assault is far from over.

The video shows Diddy as he grabs Ventura by the back of her neck and throws her down on the floor. With Ventura on the ground, Diddy assaults her again by kicking her in the back. Ventura lies motionless on the ground as the rapper picks up her purse and suitcase from near the elevator doors and then turns and kicks her again.

About four seconds pass between the two kicks, but Diddy’s assault is far from over. After the second kick, Diddy grabs Ventura by her sweatshirt and drags her across the hallway toward his hotel room. He lets go of her shirt as he turns the corner and appears to walk away.

Last year, Ventura faced Diddy in a lawsuit over the assault, which was closed after an undisclosed settlement.

Next, the video shows Ventura standing up slowly. She collects her items, which have been strewn across the floor, and uses the phone near the elevator. The next frame shows Diddy returning, and a mirror across from the surveillance camera shows him as he appears to continue the assault.

The video shows the rapper shoving Ventura into the corner, then sitting down on a chair near the wall, grabbing an object off a nearby table, and throwing it toward Ventura, where she’s crouching in a corner. Soon after, Diddy is seen walking away from the scene of the assault before he turns back to Ventura one last time when an elevator door opens and someone appears to step out.

In light of the video showcasing the Diddy assault, Ventura’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, released a statement dictating that the “gut-wrenching” surveillance footage confirms the “disturbing and predatory behavior” the rapper has been frequently accused of. Ventura has declined to comment on the video’s release.

Ventura further accused Diddy of exerting control and subjecting her to assaults and abuse throughout their relationship, both personally and professionally.

Last year, Ventura faced Diddy in a lawsuit over the assault, which was closed after an undisclosed settlement. In the lawsuit, Ventura claimed that in March 2016, Diddy assaulted her while intoxicated, causing physical harm. The details of her charges are reflected in the surveillance video.

Ventura further accused Diddy of exerting control and subjecting her to assaults and abuse throughout their relationship, both personally and professionally. Diddy denied the allegations, and the suit was settled the following day with no admission of wrongdoing.
