Strawberry Milkshake Pop-Tarts

Fans of Strawberry Milkshake Pop-Tarts can rejoice as the company recently confirmed to Today that it will be bringing the beloved flavor back thanks to overwhelming fan demand. The timing is apropos, too, as the very pink flavor’s re-release just so happens to be during the same month as the upcoming Barbie movie and the release of noted Pop-Tart fan Lil Uzi Vert’s new album The Pink Tape.

In fact, Lil Uzi Vert got early access to the re-release flavor, as the company sent them boxes for their album release party in New York City.

Pop-Tarts are bringing back their fan favorite Strawberry Milkshake flavor.

The Strawberry Milkshake Pop-Tarts have long been a point of contention for fans, with the snack food company putting them on shelves and taking them off through the 2000s and late 2010s. The last time the breakfast pastry popped up was in 2017, so fans have been waiting a while for its grand return.

Fans clearly love the taste of this flavor, and many especially love putting it in the freezer for a little while to make it even more like a Strawberry Milkshake.

Like Oreo and other popular snack foods, Pop-Tarts releases limited and funky flavors every now and then to mix things up; sometimes, these flavors take on a life of their own. The latest additions to the lineup are the Frosted Banana Bread flavors and the Apple Jacks Frosted Apple Cinnamon flavors, which haven’t quite reached the same level of fanaticism as the Strawberry Milkshake flavor.

The brand also has released Red, White, and Blueberry for the 4th of July holiday season and a throwback Frosted Strawberry flavor for a limited time.

Hopefully, the Strawberry Milkshake Pop-Tarts will stick around long enough to satiate fans and give them the chance to stock up. Knowing the snack food business, Kellogg’s probably won’t make this a permanent release. After all, artificial scarcity has long proven to be an effective way to drive those sales up.

Right now, the latest additions to the lineup are the Frosted Banana Bread flavors and the Apple Jacks Frosted Apple Cinnamon flavors, which haven’t quite reached the same level of fanaticism as the Strawberry Milkshake flavor.

Whether the Strawberry Milkshake Pop-Tarts flavor is around for a while or not, it will likely sell like gangbusters once it initially hits shelves. The rabid fan love for the product, along with the Barbie and Lil Uzi Vert album release, should no doubt build the hype up even more.

Combine those facts with it being summer, the perfect time for frozen Pop-Tarts, and you have an ideal recipe for revenue.

In other news, we may also be seeing that mysterious Pop-Tart film in the near future. In 2021, it was announced that Netflix acquired the rights to Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, a film that is being directed, co-written, and produced by Jerry Seinfeld. The comedy follows Kellogg’s and Post Consumer Brands in 1963 Michigan as they race to bring a top breakfast pastry to market.

Jerry Seinfeld is also starring in Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, along with Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Amy Schumer, Hugh Grant, James Marsden, Jack McBrayer, Thomas Lennon, Adrian Martinez, Bobby Moynihan, Max Greenfield, Christian Slater, Sarah Cooper, Rachael Harris, Maria Bakalova, Cedric Yarbrough, Kyle Dunnigan, Peter Dinklage, Jon Hamm, and John Slattery.

Seinfeld said that they were shooting for a 2023 release, so hopefully, we’ll see it soon. In the meantime, you can enjoy Strawberry Milkshake Pop-Tarts when they hit grocery store shelves near you.
