Madonna is celebrating decades as a performer with a world tour, and she announced it in a unique way. In a short video produced by Live Nation, the Material Girl relives her “Truth or Dare” days with a friendly but raunchy session of the game with a dinner table full of celebrity guests. Eric Andre, Jupp Apatow, Amy Schumer, Jack Black, Lil Wayne, Diplo, Bob the Drag Queen, Kate Berlant, Larry Owens, and Meg Stalter are all there with her feasting on breadsticks and champagne, and the video ends with Schumer proposing the tour as a dare.

The video, which is largely “NSFW,” features the various guests going around the table and daring one another to outrageous stunts, many of them sexy, including staging a recreation of a photo from the star’s 1992 book Sex that featured some of the video’s dinner guests. Madonna has never been shy about breaking conventions when it comes to sex and sensuality, marketing the topic on her other world tours almost as much as she marketed her music. Songs like “Papa Don’t Preach” and “Like a Virgin” used lyrics to address various issues women and girls face in relation to sex.

The Celebration Tour will feature all these songs and more, as Madonna expressed in response to Amy Schumer’s dare, which demanded she “do a world tour and do your greatest motherf—ing hits.”

“Four decades?” Madonna asks her about this world tour proposal. “As in 40 years? As in all those songs?”

The guests then proceed to name and sing songs with the Queen of Pop, and when she asks if anyone would go to that, they all affirm that they would. Madonna happily agrees to do the world tour, to the delight of the other celebrities, who celebrate the news with the star’s “Vogue” playing as the soundtrack. The video ends with Madonna pledging that concert attendees will hear songs from the “80s, 90s, 2000s – four decades of music avec moi.”

Often imitated but never duplicated, Madonna has had fans worldwide since the release of her self-titled first album, which featured her first hits, “Holiday,” “Borderline, and “Lucky Star.” From there, she released a total of 14 studio albums, 7 compilation albums, and 6 live albums that featured a variety of hits spanning all four decades of her career. From original hits like “Like a Virgin,” “Vogue,” “Me Against the Music,” and “Back Up to the Beat” to songs she recorded for her acting career such as “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” “Crazy for You,” and “This Used to Be My Playground,” Madonna has a huge discography that could fill multiple world tours, much less one.

Tickets for the tour go on sale on January 20, 2023, and Variety has a list of all the dates and locations. Madonna’s Celebration world tour kicks off at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 15, 2023, before dipping south into the States throughout the rest of the summer until October 7. European dates and locations for The Celebration Tour start on October 14 and continue until early December.
