You can call MrBeast the new King of YouTube. MrBeast, aka Jimmy Donaldson, has climbed to the very tip-top of YouTube earners with a 2022 gross revenue that is putting past top revenue makers to shame. So, how much does MrBeast make, and what is his net worth now? Those unfamiliar with just how much content creators and influencers can make on YouTube might be shocked by some of these numbers.

But this is the new world order for media and there are many out there making considerably more than celebrities we think of as being at the top of the Hollywood food chain. Let’s take a look at MrBeast and what there is to know about his net worth.

mrbeast net worth

Before he became known as MrBeast, he was just known as Jimmy, the middle son of military parents. By the time Jimmy was seven, his family had lived in three different cities in the southern U.S. Other than his immediate family, Jimmy didn’t have any other family around him, no aunts or uncles, no cousins, and as much as they moved around, not many friends.

For this reason, Donaldson says he has very few memories of his life before he was 11 years old. And then he describes to Rolling Stone how he tackles life today. “Fuck the past. It’s already happened. I’m trying to conquer the future.”

When Jimmy was 11 years old, he began uploading videos to YouTube. These were videos of him playing Minecraft and Call of Duty and for those who have tried their hand at YouTube can imagine, his channel did not take off. Two years later he started a new channel called MrBeast6000.

He tried to follow the YouTube video trends of the time. He was keen on video game commentary and tried to mimic the success of PewDiePie. He then began to create videos where he estimated how much money various YouTube content creators made.

But like anything with YouTube, unless you go viral with a video, you need to be in it for the long haul. So, over time, MrBeast began to make a name for himself. Subscribers began to find his channel and he became increasingly popular, mainly because of the extreme stunts he began to perform.

In one early video, Donaldson wraps himself in 100 layers of toilet paper and Saran wrap. Another video finds Donaldson counting to 100,000 in which the content creator says took him 44 hours to count.

He then stepped things up a notch and while it may baffle some as to why people would watch some of the videos he created, they have. These would include counting to 200,000, reading the dictionary, Ubering across America, reading the Bee Movie script, and saying “Logan Paul 100,000 times. He was finally earning some revenue, which allowed him to further his YouTube adventure.

Anyone who follows the YouTube model understands how content creators make their coin. It mainly comes from ad revenue from his YouTube videos. The more eyes that watch a video, the more ad revenue that hits the bank account.

MrBeast, at the moment, has over 141 million YouTube subscribers, and that is just from his main channel. Donaldson has a number of other channels as well that include Beast Philanthropy (12.5M subscribers), MrBeast Gaming (31.7M), Beast Reacts (22.3M), MrBeast2 (21.1M), and MrBeast 3 (7.5M)

In total, Donaldson’s six channels have almost 216 million combined subscribers. Even more remarkable is the fact that his videos have generated over 10 billion video views. His popularity isn’t only on YouTube. He has over 12 million Instagram followers, 9 million on Twitter, and has generated nearly 28 billion TikTok views. To say he is a social media mogul would be a vast understatement.

Along with his ad revenue, Donaldson also creates income through sponsorships. It has been reported that MrBeast charges $1 million per month to be the primary sponsor on his video page. In March, credit bureau Experian was on the hook for the $1 million. It is possible through his other five channels he has generated another $1 million per month.

Donaldson is also the owner of MrBeast Burger, an app and menu that Donaldson has created that works with over 1,600 restaurants across the country. Fans can order MrBeast-branded meals that MrBeast markets to his millions and millions of subscribers. Per his deal with the restaurants, they split the profits evenly.

According to various reports, MrBeast hit it out of the park with his merchandise sales. He sells a lot of it, with nearly half of his 2022 income coming from these sales. By conservative estimates, Donaldson brings in easily $2 million a month from merchandise.

First things first. Jimmy Donaldson is 24 years old. His rise to YouTube stardom and King of Revenue has been through hard work, daring stunts, massive cash giveaways (along with cars and homes), and very well deserved. Donaldson has put in hours upon hours of work to get to the top and it is a position he does not plan on giving up.

In 2021, MrBeast brought home a YouTube record-setting $54 million. His net worth is estimated at $105 million in 2023. Because it is hard to pin down his exact monthly income with all the various ways he brings in money, it is estimated that MrBeast earns between $3 and $5 million a month. This net worth is also thought to be considerably higher than what it was in 2022 which was $25 million.

MrBeast’s income estimates are from his YouTube ads alone and not counting his in-video brand deals. So, how much money does MrBeast have? That’s a question that not even Donaldson could probably answer and, for the most part, he doesn’t even care.

As Donaldson tells Rolling Stone, he doesn’t “give a fuck about money. I don’t want to live my life chasing the next shiny object to the next shiny object,” he says. “It’s a sad, miserable way to go about life.” In fact, as Donaldson sees it, his grand plan is to give away all his hard-earned cash before he dies. And so far, he is doing a great job of it.

This is one way MrBeast gets his subscribers. He is known for his stunt philanthropy. In one of his popular videos (well, they are all popular) he gave $1,000 to strangers. As subscribers flocked to his channel, he gave even more away. Hundreds of thousands of dollars turned into one video where he handed over $1 million dollars. In that video, MrBeast stacked up $1 million dollars and the last person to remove their hand from that large stack would win the entire prize.

Another popular giveaway shows exactly what Donaldson and his MrBeast persona is all about. This particular video had Donaldson and his friends order pizza and when the delivery person arrived, Donaldson asked his if he could help his friends move furniture.

They took the pizza delivery person to stores to purchase furniture and anything else they could think of to fill a home and unbeknownst to the pizza delivery person, Donaldson was buying all the stuff for him. This giveaway was the entire home and everything in it.

So, Donaldson would be hard-pressed to put an exact figure on how much he has given away in terms of cash and prizes and it doesn’t look to end, ever, especially with his drive to be the biggest and best when it comes to YouTube.

“I want to be the biggest YouTube channel ever. Not even for my ego. It just gives me something to strive for, to get out of bed and grind for. But it’s also just vanity.” He is very candid with his wants, but he is also just as candid with his desire to make people happy.

One of Jimmy’s latest stunts has brought on the wrath of a number of his detractors. In a TikTok video he posted recently, MrBeast can be seen asking a waitress what the biggest tip she had ever received was. Her answer was $50.

He then asked her if anyone has ever tipped a car before, then pulled out a pair of keys. Her reaction was, “Are you serious? You’re lying. This is a car key, not a car.” So, he proceeded to take the waitress out to the parking lot where he “tipped” her a brand-new Toyota Corolla.

The waitress refused to believe the “tip” was a real one, but Jimmy finally convinced her it was. When the reality settled in, she broke down in tears, telling him that she had actually been late for work that day because the Uber she had to take to get to work was slow.

What appeared to be a wonderful gesture, something MrBeast is well known for, turned out to be a bit more. You see, the car was wrapped with MrBeast’s Feastables chocolate bar advertising. So, while the gesture of a new car to a struggling waitress was awesome, the fact that she had to drive around promoting his chocolate bar was not and he was called out by many.

Finally, Jimmy responded to all the backlash he was receiving, so he went back to the waitress and offered to remove the Feastables branding. To the waitress’s credit, she told him, “I think I’m going to keep it.” In the end, though, they both decided to finally remove the Feastables logo.

MrBeast is known for his philanthropic acts. Whether it be paying for cataract surgery for 1,000 blind people, handing out stacks of cash, keys to a new home, or, as with this very thankful waitress, keys to a new car, Jimmy Donaldson has done a bunch of good for a bunch of people. Sometimes, though, some of his good acts have gotten him in a little bit of hot water.
