Announcing and preparing for its largest in-game event up to date, called “The End,” hasn’t stopped the free-to-play battle royale gaming title Fortnite from adding more skins to the game. In truth, ever since its release, Fortnite has licensed more characters from pop culture, including the villains, anti-heroes, and heroes from Marvel’s and DC Comics’ respective universes than any other gaming franchise in history. Now, another comic book character is arriving on The Island, with a skin based on one of Marvel’s most prominent characters.

You can see the reveal in a tweet below:

As reported by Game Rant, Marvel Games’ official Twitter account revealed that Nick Fury skin is now available through Fortnite’s in-game shop. Comic book lovers and Marvel Cinematic Universe enthusiasts know that Nick Fury plays a prominent role in Marvel’s lore, and the character’s appearance in the MCU is one of the most beloved interpretations of the character, mostly thanks to Samuel L. Jackson’s iconic performance. Fury isn’t the first Marvel character to enter the game; he’s accompanied by all the Avengers that have been previously added, including Star-Lord, Black Widow, Hulk, Thor, and Iron Man.

The newly added skin is now available through Fortnite’s in-game shop for 1500 V-Bucks for the bare skin and 2000 V-Bucks for the Nick Fury bundle, which comes with all other cosmetics in the SHIELD set, including the harvesting tool, back bling, pickax, and a glider. These are specifically designed and carry SHIELD’s logo on each item. Those who opt to purchase the whole bundle will also receive a unique Loading Screen where Fury jumps out of the Quinjet. The entire skin is loosely modeled on his MCU counterpart, featuring slight distinctions from his live-action actor.

Interestingly enough, Fortnite’s Season 8 concludes the game’s Chapter 2 – a narrative arc in which the players defend the Island from an army released by the supernatural Cube found on the map. Now, with the Convergence complete and The Cube Queen released, players will have to team up in the upcoming “The End” in-game event to prevent their beloved Island from being destroyed. MCU enthusiasts know that this isn’t the first time Fury has had to deal with this type of threat, as he has faced similar threats in the form of the Tesseract, a cube-like object that contained the Space Stone, from the MCU.

With Fortnite closing its Chapter 2 in less than a week, those interested might not have much time remaining to obtain the Nick Fury skin. Epic Games tends to release these skins as promotional material for upcoming releases like was the case with Eddie Brock from the Venom: Let there be Carnage movie, making them available for a short period only, with very little chance of obtaining said skins later in the game. So, those interested in the Nick Fury skin should probably jump at the opportunity to get it right now, given that it could be a while before he re-appears in Fortnite’s in-game shop again. If he ever does. Remember, Fortnite’s in-game world is “ending” on December 4th in the one-time-only in-game event called “The End.”
