Zack Snyder is about to have one of his most-anticipated films ever finally hit the screen. It’s been years in the making and could help to further along one of the biggest franchises out there. With all the hype around Zack Snyder’s Justice League, it makes sense that the name would be ringing out now more than ever and more projects would start setting up in the rumor mill. The latest one has it that LucasFilm might have Snyder in mind for another franchise you may have heard of before. That would put Snyder in line to helm a Star Wars movie at some point.

There are tons of Star Wars projects in the pipeline for LucasFilm, many with directors already attached. But there are also movies planned in principle-only right now, any of which could land Zack Snyder in the director’s chair for the iconic franchise. It makes sense that the studio would want to target guys like Snyder considering their history with signing on and keeping movie directors is spotty at best. But they’ve already lined up some other huge names and Snyder could follow.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is set to release no HBO Max in a little over a month now on March, 18th and the film has garnered more than a little hype. After the first run-through saw Snyder having to leave the production because of the tragic death of his daughter, Joss Whedon took over and the film turned into a moderate mess. Snyder has spent time reshooting a ton of the action, reworking the script back into his original vision, and adding more characters. There’s strong hope this version will correct the issues from the original and be more in line with the first plan for the flick. In fact, from the most recent trailer, it looks like a completely different movie from the first.

As for Zack Snyder joining the Star Wars franchise, we do know a few things about some of the upcoming projects. Patty Jenkins has already been tapped to helm Rogue Squadron after directing the first two Wonder Woman movies. So there’s already some DC crossover planned with creative talent. And they’ve also tapped Taika Waititi for an unnamed movie as well, keeping the comic book connection alive after he helmed Thor: Ragnarok and will soon handle Thor: Love and Thunder.

Zack Snyder could be tapped to come on board with Kevin Feige’s Star Wars project. LucasFilm head Kathleen Kennedy has been working with the Marvel boss to make a movie for the franchise. There are no details about this project except having Feige on as a producer. But his industry cache alone could move Snyder into the director’s chair on a new project for the franchise. That’s just a guess of course, but the sensibilities would seem to line up.

While we wait for the rumor mill to handle the news about Zack Snyder heading into a galaxy far, far away we can choose to live in the movie moment. That means just getting psyched for the new Justice League and everything it can be if Snyder reworked it in the correct vision. And of course, he’s got too huge productions set up as well with Army of the Dead and Fountainhead set to hit the screen in the next few years.
