WandaVision is going to end up being one of the most vital pieces of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s future. The Disney+ series will be our first look at the potentials of the multiverse. And thanks to a new leak, it turns out that the multiverse will be how the X-Men end up entering into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A recent leak revealed that Quicksilver would be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but we had all assumed that it would be the Aaron Taylor-Johnson version of the character that we last saw in Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, it was also revealed that Evan Peters would be playing some mystery role in the series. With the confirmation that Quicksilver will be in WandaVision, it is now fairly certain that Peters will appear as the Fox Studios version of the character.

So, what would this inclusion in WandaVision mean? It would be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first acknowledgment of Fox’s X-Men universe. This would be an enormous reveal and would set up the future possibility that other former iterations of Marvel characters that weren’t part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe could appear. We know that Scarlet Witch a.k.a.Wanda Maximoff will be a central figure in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so it stands to reason that she will be opening doorways to different dimensions.

To be frank, it would be surprising if WandaVision didn’t feature some focus on Wanda trying to resurrect her dead brother. In her attempt to bring back both her lover, Vision, and her brother, could she be messing with the fabric of existence in a way that opens the door for another universe’s Quicksilver to come through? It could amount to little more than a cameo, but even that brief appearance would be enough to establish how wacky these multiverse shenanigans could get.

And if WandaVision sets the precedent that Scarlet Witch can discover alternate worlds, the sky is the limit for both Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and any other future stories in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Concepts like the X-Men or the Fantastic Four can easily be integrated into the proper Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to this potential reveal. And audiences will be primed for whatever the story wants to throw at them if a character like Evan Peters‘s Quicksilver show up.

If this is how the X-Men end up making their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it could mean that other previous X-Men members could make their way into the fray. We know that this is how Deadpool will end up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it makes total sense that other X-Men characters could find their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe via the same storytelling device.

We will have to wait and see if Evan Peters does show up as Quicksilver in WandaVision, but it is looking extremely likely that this will be how the X-Men find their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If so, get ready for a flood of other characters to start showing up in this newest phase of the Marvel experiment.
