Pop singer Demi Lovato got the biggest shock when she was engaging in an interview with Scream 6‘s Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera. The Scream stars were discussing the new original song that Lovato wrote for the movie, “Still Alive,” when she was scared by someone in the Ghostface killer outfit. The Ghostface comes out of nowhere to scare Lovato, which you can see below, and happens to be Mason Gooding in the iconic slasher’s costume.

Mason Gooding simply states that he was just wanting to meet Demi Lovato and meeting her meant scaring the wits right out of her while in the killer’s outfit for Scream 6. The sequel movie is set to bring all three stars back from the previous movie, as the Ghostface killer (or killers as is the usual case) stalks the group of friends in New York City. Could Gooding showing up in the killer’s costume be a sign of things to come?

Scream 6 is the sequel to the revival of sorts, that the long-standing franchise has seen in recent years. Scream 5, aptly titled Scream, saw a new group of friends being stalked by a killer who once again idolized Sidney Prescott in some bizarre way. Unfortunately, Sidney Prescott is not going to be part of this new sequel, as Neve Campbell revealed there had been breakdowns during the negotiation process for her return.

Sadly, without Neve Campbell, the Scream franchise is down to only one legacy character left. Courteney Cox stars as Gale Weathers and is the final character left from the original movie. Demi Lovato was surely scared beyond belief, so maybe the studio can put her into the movie, as her reactions were genuine enough that she could show up as an extra.

To be honest, with Demi Lovato having written an original song for the movie, we think she might show up as an extra in the movie at some point. That is not always the case, but we suspect that she could be a big fan of the franchise and would likely jump at the chance to appear in the movie in some small way. We would certainly like to meet our untimely end at the hands of Ghostface in the Scream franchise.

The new Demi Lovato song “Still Alive” will be available to stream on March 3rd, which is right before Scream 6 is set to be released. We would imagine the song is more of an uplifting anthem, as we think everyone is certainly not going to be alive when the movie ends. Hopefully, Courteney Cox makes it through and carries on the legacy of the original characters.

Scream 6 will officially release on March 10, 2023. The new sequel will bring back Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Courteney Cox, and Hayden Panettiere returning from Scream 4. The survivors of the latest Woodsboro killings will leave the town behind for a new life in New York City, but another copycat Ghostface begins to stalk them, even in the big city.
