Are you a fan of NBC’s post-blackout drama Revolution? Maybe you’re not quite satisfied with the two webseries that the network has released to maintain interest while the show is on an extended break. Do you just want to see something from the actual show instead of a bunch of asides, prequels, and peripheral action? Well, today is your lucky day. Revolution returns on Monday, March 25th, and now you can watch the first minute of the episode, with some bonus insights from creator Eric Kripke and executive producer J.J. Abrams.

Talk about starting out with a bang. The next episode, “The Stand,” picks up precisely where we left off all the way back in November. General Monroe (David Lyons) has power, power that can drive military equipment, like a long dormant helicopter. That spells bad news for anyone who opposes him, anyone without access to one of those cool little pendants that have the ability to turn the lights back on.

Those in the most immediate danger are the heroes of Revolution, Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos), Miles (Billy Burke), Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell), and Aaron (Zac Orth). How’s Miles going to get them out of this pickle? Hiding out in that diner doesn’t look like the most successful strategy.

We’ve been promised more action, more intensity, and more of the titular revolution, and if this clip is any indication, that’s exactly what we’re in store for.

I do have one minor quibble. It’s been 15 years since anyone has actually flown a chopper. Surely Monroe has someone with experience in that arena, and maybe his pilot has even been reading up on the subject, going through some visualization exercises in his head, and preparing for this moment. Still, you expect a certain amount of ring rust after such an extended layoff, but the flying seems just as smooth as if he does this everyday. Guess we have to chalk this one up to TV magic.
