Batman fans were treated to perhaps the best look at the upcoming Batmobile they will get before The Batman releases in theaters. Thanks to a DC fan who spotted the newest version of the Batmobile on display outside The WB Abu Dhabi hotel over the weekend, those excited to see Robert Pattinson’s take on the character got something that previous shots of the Batmobile from the early days of production as well as the latest trailer weren’t able to show — a little freaking daylight.

The photos, which the fan shared to Twitter, show the vehicle inactive, essentially idling outside the hotel. However, it’s still somehow jarring to see such an important bit of kit for Robert Pattinson’s heroic vigilante just sitting around. Still, it’s not at all without its impressive features. Unlike Christopher Nolan or Zack Snyder’s take on the Batmobile, Matt Reeves’ project is the first since probably the Adam West years to make the car look like an actual car that’s been upgraded for Batman purposes. Tim Burton did an amazing job of stylizing the Batmobile to work with his gothic version of Gotham. Nolan and Snyder got more tactical with it and essentially had the Dark Knight driving around in a tank. Check out Robert Pattinson’s Batmobile below:

Robert Pattinson’s car, meanwhile, is so much more than that. The images show a simple muscle car that has been outfitted and armored up to look anything but simple. From the bullet-proofing on the wheels to the scary-looking fender that looks designed to bash through anything, this Batmobile is not your average commuter vehicle. In one of the photos, fans can see what appears to be a red neon light shining through the front fender, just in case any bad guys needed a visual representation to let them know they should start peeing their pants.

For comparison, you can see Michael Keaton’s batmobile below.

The combat-ready Batmobile is in keeping with a recent synopsis that teases where Robert Pattinson’s Batman is going to be when audiences meet him. Collider reports this version of Batman is probably the youngest we’ve seen since Nolan’s Batman Begins. The recently released synopsis notes that Bruce Wayne is taking to the streets to deal with an internal rage that he can’t seem to quiet without putting his foot to crime’s proverbial butt. However, he’s getting himself involved in a dangerous game that has him struggling to define the line between him and just another “ruthless serial killer.”

The first full trailer for the movie seems to indicate the same thing. In addition to teasing the first introduction of The Riddler since Jim Carrey chewed all the scenery in Batman Forever, the trailer shows Robert Pattinson’s Batman declaring himself an agent of vengeance to Gotham’s underworld. It also shows him seemingly reveling in the pain of his enemies. Not for nothing, but it also shows Robert Pattinson’s Batmobile freaking the hell out of Colin Farrell’s Penguin.

Whether it’s bursting through flames to hunt down a crime boss or sitting idly for superhero fans in Abu Dabi to snap a few pictures of, the new Batmobile is an impressive sight to see. However, like most things with Batman, it’s a symbol, a character study of Robert Pattinson’s new caped crusader who is struggling to understand what his mission is and where he fits into the world of killers.
