Robbie Amell has already gained a ton of popularity due to his time on The Flash. The Canadian actor has famously portrayed Firestorm on the CW series. Firestorm is otherwise known as Ronnie Raymond. An undead version of the character, known as Death Storm, was also portrayed by Amell. On top of being a fan-favorite character from The Flash, he has now joined an even bigger franchise. Amell has been cast in the upcoming The Witcher Season 3. His casting is joined by Meng’er Zhang from Shang Chi among others. You can see the casting announcement below:

Robbie Amell is set to take on the role of Gallatin. Gallatin is an elf that is said to be “a fighter who leads an army of guerrilla Scoia’tael fighting on behalf of Nilfgaard.” This character will be added as showrunner for The Witcher, Lauren S. Hissrich has stated that the new season will stay more closely to the source material. This is in regard to the several novels that The Witcher was born from, and though the source material may have been lacking in the second season, Hissirch has promised to stay more closely to the novels in the third season. The video game series also borrows heavily from the novels. What is more interesting is that Meng’er Zhang has been added as well. She had a breakout role in Shang Chi, as the titular hero’s sister, who is now likely the head of the Ten Rings clan.

Robbie Amell is no stranger to acting, as he was part of two CW shows. The above-mentioned Ronnie Raymond in The Flash, but he was also an integral part of The Tomorrow People, which ran from 2013 to 2014. Amell portrayed that of Stephen Jameson. The show follows a group of extraordinary people that have powers like that of superheroes. These powers include telekinesis, teleportation, and telepathy. They are being hunted by an organization by the name of Ultra. It seems as if the actor is continuing his time within the realm of superheroes and fantasy, as he has now joined The Witcher franchise. His addition to the show could be that of assisting Geralt in some way, or possibly by hiding Ciri from those who would use her great power to their advantage. There are more promises of war and fighting to be shown in this upcoming season, and a war with elves might be on the horizon. The Witcher Season 2 did touch on Blood of Elves continuity, but that could be further expanded in the new season.

The Witcher Season 3 is currently filming, and Robbie Amell will be joining the ever-growing cast of characters that have been mentioned already. Both the previous seasons of the series have premiered in the winter months, and it seems as if the third season will follow that same formula. With Covid regulations slowly being taken down, the hope is that there will be no delays during filming for this new season. Expect The Witcher Season 3 and Amell to debut sometime between October and December of this year on Netflix.
