The trailer for Mythic Quest season 3 has officially been released by AppleTV and can be viewed on the subscription streaming platform’s YouTube account. The two-minute-long trailer has amassed over 11,000 views since its debut earlier today and depicts some old characters to the series like Danny Pudi’s Brad the Janitor and a new character played by the towering 6’5″ Joe Manganiello who appears to be performing as a fictionalized version of himself within the show. Joe Manganiello, in particular, is taking his acting skills to heart as he embodies a video game version of Rob McElhenney’s character, heightening the transition for the video game company bringing their fictional game of Mythic Quest to Hollywood studios.

Mythic Quest will premiere its season 3 on AppleTV+ on November 11th, showcasing the talented writing from many of the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia scribes, including Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, and Megan Ganz. Demonstrating the inner workings of a fictional video game studio as they produce a massively multiplayer online role-playing game called Mythic Quest, McElhenney is currently pulling triple duty as a creator and star of the series, creator and star of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and helping to run the Welsh professional association football team known as Wrexham A.F.C. alongside actor and friend Ryan Reynolds.

According to a report by ET Online, Joe Manganiello is one of a few guest stars headlining the third season of the series, with appearances by Grace and Frankie alum Lindsey Kraft and The Big Bang Theory costar Casey Sander in the works.

Mythic Quest season 3 will start audiences off where season 2 ended, with Co-Creative Directors Ian Grimm (Rob McElhenney) and Poppy Li (Charlotte Nicdao) beginning a rivalry with their old company after leaving Mythic Quest to form their own studio, aptly named GrimPop Studios. Another It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia costar, David Hornsby, plays David Brittlesbee who goes from Executive Producer to man in charge while others around him have been promoted to the roles left vacant by Ian and Poppy.

Community star Danny Pudi returns in the third season as Brad, a former head of monetization and newly released prisoner for insider trading that returns to the offices as the janitor, although his motives may be sinister due to his past convictions and comedic take on the character.

Rob McElhenney looks to be busy with multiple projects at the same time, just as his Welsh football team gains notoriety both in Europe and the United States. Prior to Mythic Quest season 3 starting this fall, McElhenney produced a sports documentary series alongside Ryan Reynolds about the team they own called Welcome to Wrexham, which premiered on FX earlier this summer.

With Mythic Quest, McElhenney and team have had the great fortune to include many celebrity guest stars in prior seasons before Joe Manganiello comes aboard, including voice-overs and onscreen performances by the late William Hurt, Snoop Dogg, Anthony Hopkins, How I Met Your Mother actor Cristin Milioti, and New Girl’s Jake Johnson, sometimes playing themselves to comedic effect.
