The Marvel Sci-Fi Thriller Series Everyone Already Forgot, Stream This One-of-a-Kind Show Now

Legion, a Marvel sci-fi thriller series, is now streaming on Hulu. The one-of-a-kind show first aired in 2017, and it seems viewers have already forgotten about this eccentric superhero installment set in a parallel universe to the X-Men movies.

Legion Is Streaming Now

Created by Noah Hawley (Fargo series) to premiere on FX, Legion is based on the Marvel comic character David Haller, otherwise known as Legion. It follows the journey of David Haller and the struggles he faces on his journey to figure out what’s going on in his head.

Dan Stevens (as Legion) is the star of the Marvel show, alongside Rachel Keller (Syd Barrett), Aubrey Plaza (Lenny Busker), Bill Irwin (Cary Loudermilk), Jeremie Harris (Ptonomy Wallace), Amber Midthunder (Kerry Loudermilk), and Jean Smart (Dr. Melanie Bird).

Navid Negahban also played an important role in the series as the main antagonist, Amahl Farouk.

The Legion Story

In Legion, Haller grew up in psychiatric facilities and has even been diagnosed as a “schizophrenic” patient, though the turmoil in his mind is spawned by something much different. Being committed to the ward did lead him to meet his main squeeze in the show, Sydney Barrett, “Syd” for short.

David was blindsided with the possibility that there may be more to his “problems” than just mental illness when an “incident” in the facility led to the death of one of his best friends, Lenny Busker.

The government agency, Division 3, begins to catch on to the strangeness of Haller’s mind and he becomes a main topic for them.

Solving The Mystery

Legion

Being hunted by Division 3, Legion season one sees David discover who he is and what is really going on in that glorious mind of his. Once David figures out that a parasitic mutant infects his mind, the story gets really weird.

The audience is introduced to Amahl Farouk. Amahl Farouk is the Shadow King in Legion and this Marvel character quickly takes his rank as a formidable foe throughout all three seasons of the show.

The Legion Release

Legion

Legion debuted in February 2017. The second season premiered in April 2018. The final season of the Marvel series first aired in June 2019, and the final episode of the third season of the show aired on August 12, 2019.

When the show first dropped, it aired at 10:00 pm on a Wednesday, which wasn’t a favorable time to draw viewers into a new story. As a result, initial ratings were described as “OK, not great”.

The Marvel Universe

However, Legion’s introduction to the Marvel universe impressed critics on Rotten Tomatoes. The first season of the series received a 90 percent approval rating. The second season of the show received a 91 percent approval rating, and the third season earned a 93 percent approval rating.

A Strange Marvel Gem

Legion is a strange Marvel gem that is worth discovering if you’ve never seen it. The show provides a somewhat cryptic storyline, as the story is told from David Haller’s intricate mind view. Learn to embrace the confusion and wait for the punchlines, and you’ll see the gleam and glimmer of Legion’s design.

The show is now streaming all three seasons on Hulu for those with a subscription to the channel.
