Following reports that Margot Robbie had been offered the role of Sue Storm, digital artist Hibban Mohammed created a concept image of the Barbie actress as the character. The picture sees the DC alum transformed into the Invisible Woman in her iconic blue and black Fantastic Four super suit. The image also includes her signature force fields, which create a visually stunning depiction of the superhero.

Casting Marvel’s First Family has been a major topic of discussion among fans. With a release date of 2025, folks have been waiting for confirmation about which stars will take on the roles of iconic superheroes. Before Margot Robbie, Jodie Comer was said to be the frontrunner for Sue Storm.

Adam Driver and Paul Mescal are the rumored favorites for Mister Fantastic and Johnny Storm, respectively.

Margot Robbie’s casting news comes by way of Daniel Richtman, who reiterated that she had just been offered the role. She had not accepted it. If the Suicide Squad star turns down the offer, other actresses up for the part include Mila Kunis and Allison Williams.

While the wait might be frustrating, the casting delay is probably due to changes in the project’s creative team. Meanwhile, other fans have started generating art based on her playing the character. Even us…

In December 2020, it was announced that Jon Watts, who previously directed the MCU’s Spider-Man films, would helm Fantastic Four. However, in April 2022, Watts stepped down from the director’s chair to take a break from superhero movies. Marvel Studios wasted no time finding a replacement, with Matt Shakman signing on to direct a few months later.

Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer were announced as the film’s writers in September 2022. But in March 2023, it was revealed that Josh Friedman was rewriting the script. So it’s not surprising that Margot Robbie hasn’t officially signed on for the film yet.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, Kevin Feige confirmed there would be no origin story.

This approach is not uncommon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Spider-Man was introduced without an origin story. The Fantastic Four were first introduced in Marvel Comics in 1961, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The team consists of Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ben Grimm (The Thing).

They gained their powers after being exposed to cosmic rays during a scientific experiment in space and have been defending Earth from various threats ever since. The Fantastic Four have been adapted for film several times over the years with moderate success. But with Marvel Studios at the helm and Margot Robbie tapped to play Sue Storm, fans are hopeful that the new film will live up to expectations.
