Jason Bateman’s most popular series Ozark is coming to an end and the fans are turning out in droves to check it out. The fourth and final season of the series released Part 1 back in January and then released Part 2 on April 29. Since then, it has quickly climbed to number one on the streaming charts. It only took the series a short three days to reach that spot and in that time it was streamed for a whopping total of 78.4 million hours by audiences. The hours viewed for Ozark easily doubled the second-place spot Selling Sunset, which was viewed for around 34.3 million hours.

Ozark has been a huge hit for Netflix and marks one of the more dramatic turns for Jason Bateman in recent years. The actor is well known for his comedic ability, but this series has done a lot to cast his talents in a different light. Bateman plays Marty Byrde in the series, a financial advisor who has to move his family to the Missouri Ozarks to launder money for a drug boss. The series began its run in 2017 and has had positive reviews ever since. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently holds an 83% critic score and an 89% audience score. The third season was the highest-rated, garnering a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. As the series found its footing, the reviews would get better and better over time.

In addition to Jason Bateman, Ozark also stars Laura Linney, Skylar Gaertner, Julia Garner, Sofia Hublitz, Charlie Tahan, Lisa Emery, Carson Holmes, Jordana Spiro, Felix Solis, and many more. The series was created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams. Julia Garner in particular has received a lot of praise for her role, winning two Supporting Actress Emmys. Jason Bateman also snagged an Emmy for one of the episodes he directed. In addition to its three wins, the show has been nominated in many other categories. Presumably, there will be more nominations to come as the show wraps up its run.

With Ozark now firmly in the rearview, Jason Bateman will be moving on to some other projects in the near future. He’ll be taking on the director role for the upcoming movie Here Comes The Flood which is currently in pre-production. Though there aren’t any plot details, the movie is described as being a character-driven, romance-heist movie. Simon Kinberg is on for the screenplay. There is no cast announced for Here Comes The Flood at this time.

Jason Bateman will also be reportedly taking his acting talents back to the big screen with the upcoming Clue. Based on the board game of the same name, hopefully, this movie will have as much heart as the Tim Curry-starring 1985 adaptation. Clue will follow a group of strangers as they try to find the murderer among them. Ryan Reynolds is also set to star with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick on board as writers.

If you want to see Ozark for yourself and see if it’s worth the hype, you can now stream the series in its entirety on Netflix.
