The John Wick franchise has been a hit since the first film shot into theaters back in 2014. Known for its larger than life stories, colorful characters, and not to mention the star-studded ensemble, the films have quickly gained a massive cult following. After her appearance in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Halle Berry quickly boarded the long list of top tier talent attached to the world of the titular assassin. And now, lovers of Berry’s work as Sofia Al-Azwar, the manager of Casablanca’s Continental Hotel, are holding onto every little bit of information the actress gave up during a recent interview.

While on the press circuit to promote her upcoming apocalyptic space monster flick, Moonfall, the actress chatted with IGN about the possibility of the butt kicking Sofia getting her own spin-off. Though the news started out bleak, with Halle Berry revealing that her John Wick character would not be returning for the ever delayed John Wick 4, she went on to tease the possibility of the character landing her very own feature. In the interview Berry flat out said there “could possibly” be a chance that the character of Sofia would get her own flick. The actress laid it out that while she won’t be appearing in John Wick 4, “she might be doing her own thingy-thingy.” While it isn’t a full red carpet announcement, it’s something!

Though, as longtime fans of Halle Berry know, it’s not quite time to get excited yet. In the past, there were rumors that the Bruised director and actress would have another spin-off, this time in the British spy world. Following her success starring as Jinx, in the 2002 James Bond film, Die Another Day, talks of a movie based on Berry’s character got underway. Unfortunately, the film would be dropped which was a huge disappointment not only for Berry fans, but for Bond fans everywhere hoping for a little more female representation. During her interview with IGN, Berry referenced the Bond drop alongside the John Wick possibility saying a spin-off of the latter would be “putting some ointment on a little sore.”

There would be no time like the present for Halle Berry’s Sofia to get her own chance in the spotlight. Due to the never ending success of the John Wick franchise, the film has already spawned two other offshoots. One, The Continental, is in the works and set to land on Starz later in 2022. The series will follow a young Winston Scott, played by Colin Woodell, as he tries to navigate the dark and dangerous underworld of New York City in the 1970s. Starring alongside Woodell is Mel Gibson, though his part has yet to be annoucned. Ballerina, is another possible spin-off of the gun slinging franchise. Though much of the information surrounding the film’s production and plot are being kept under wraps, Ana de Armas is reportedly working on the project in the titular role.

No matter what the case and how it has to happen, we would be thrilled to see Halle Berry get her own John Wick spinoff. Heck, we’d love to see the actress shine in anything! A No Time to Die spin-off or maybe even a remake of 2004’s major flop, Catwoman, would all be great. Lest we forget that late last year, Berry did mention she would be down to give the superhero another go. Let’s just load Berry up with all of the roles she wants and be rewarded with some great content in return.
