The Euphoria Season 3 news was made public by HBO boss Casey Bloys during a press event held on Thursday morning. Sam Levinson’s popular series was part of a mashup reel entitled Coming in 2025.

The reel highlighted Euphoria Season 3, Season 2 of The Last of Us, Season 3 of The White Lotus, and the It prequel series, Welcome to Derry.

Euphoria Stars Zendaya As Rue

For those who are unfamiliar with the preface Euphoria, Rue (played by Zendaya) is the main character and narrator of the show. Rue is a teenage girl who is queer and struggling to stay sober while fighting a nasty drug addiction. Euphoria Season 3 is set to pick up this story.

Euphoria stars Zendaya (as Rue), Sydney Sweeney (as Cassie), Maude Apatow (as Lexi), Alexa Demie (as Maddy), Jacob Elordi (as Nate), Eric Dane (as Cal), Storm Reid (as Gia), and Nika King (as Leslie).

Rue’s Experiences And Struggles

Though Euphoria is primarily focused on Rue’s experiences, the story is really about how young people struggle to find stability, a sense of self, and lasting connections in a chaotic and troublesome world.

Most episodes of the show start out by explaining the backstory of one of the main characters to further uncover the intricacies of the teenage characters. Euphoria Season 3 should be much of the same.

Limited Info On Euphoria Season 3

There has been little information leaked regarding the contents of the new season of Euphoria, but there are a few tidbits of information on the table. For one, viewers should not expect to see Barbie Ferreiera’s character, Kat Hernandez, in the third season, as the actress has publicly announced that she will not be returning to the show.

Without Angus Cloud

Euphoria Season 3

There is also the matter of Angus Cloud’s (the actor who played Fezco on the show) unfortunate passing. In July of this year, Cloud was found dead at his family home in Oakland, California.

While many people speculated that the actor had purposely taken his own life, the theory of suicide was debunked by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office. The coroner stated that Cloud died of an accidental drug overdose and the “combined effects of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and benzodiazepines”.

Euphoria Is On HBO

Euphoria Season 3

So … Season 3 of Euphoria will not have Fez or Kat, and the storyline of the new season will have to be equipped to explain their absence in some way. Levinson spoke out saying that he views the third season of the show as a sort of “film noir”.

He said that Rue (Zendaya) will narrate to viewers from a perspective of what it means to be a morally sound individual in a “corrupt world”.

With all the drama the cast has already faced in the past two seasons of the show, viewers are sure to be moved by the mountains they climb during their next on-screen adventure.

You can find seasons one and two of Euphoria streaming on MAX with a subscription to the channel and catch up on the hit series before the next season officially drops.
