Emily Blunt has been rumored for the role of Sue Storm a.k.a. the Invisible Woman for a while now. It looks like one artist wanted to help bring this rumor to life. Vadvender Singh Rana, a freelance digital artist, has made one of the Fantastic Four’s biggest casting rumors into a reality, by creating fan art of Emily Blunt as the Invisible Woman, Sue Storm.

2020 is the first year since 2009 without a new film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so to continuously keep fans excited about the future of this massive franchise, Marvel has in recent weeks been dropping major casting announcements for their upcoming films. Yet despite a plethora of great casting choices and even some massive surprises, fans are arguably most excited to see what Marvel will do with their recently acquired characters from the Fantastic Four and X-Men.

But since no one knows when we will hear updates on those gigantic additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one artist has taken to Instagram to try to visualize a major casting theory.

In Rana’s rendition, Sue Storm is in a tight black and blue uniform, which features multiple Fantastic Four logos that look a lot like the Avengers logo. The outfit does certainly look like something that would appear in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film and Emily Blunt does look like she would be a solid choice for the role, after past versions portrayed by Jessica Alba in 2005’s Fantastic Four and 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and Kate Mara in 2015’s Fantastic Four.

But Rana hasn’t stopped there, visualizing several other characters in the Fantastic Four in the last week. Another major Fantastic Four theory has been that joining Emily Blunt as Sue Storm would be her real-life husband, John Krasinski as Reed Richards a.k.a. Mister Fantastic. Rana has also made art depicting what that would look like, in the same Fantastic Four outfit and with stretched out arms.

Rana’s idea for the Human Torch is an intriguing one that hasn’t been rumored in the past. Considering that the past actors to play the Human Torch – Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan – went on to play major roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Rana theorizes that maybe the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s take on the Human Torch will be an actor we’ve already seen in another non-Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero film. Rana conceives of The Amazing Spider-Man’s Andrew Garfield as Human Torch, providing Garfield a second chance at superhero greatness, and a great choice alongside Emily Blunt and John Krasinski.

Rumors about the Fantastic Four appearing in future Marvel Cinematic Universe films has been rising recently, particularly with Lovecraft Country’s Jonathan Majors being cast as Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man 3. Marvel’s other casting news also makes it seem abundantly clear that the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Four is going to be packed with multiverse action, possibly as a way to introduce the Fantastic Four and the X-Men into this realm.

Recently, Marvel announced that Benedict Cumberbatch would be bringing Doctor Strange to the next Spider-Man film, and probably as a result of his multiverse-viewing abilities, Jamie Foxx will be reprising his The Amazing Spider-Man 2 role of Electro in Spider-Man as well. This is all even before March 25, 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which, who knows what craziness that Phase 4-concluding film will get into. Maybe we’ll even see Emily Blunt as Sue Storm alongside both Jessica Alba and Kate Mara? Could the Marvel Cinematic Universe feature multiple Fantastic Fours? Fantastic Twelve?!

Who knows what Marvel has planned for the introduction of the Fantastic Four into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but regardless, Rana makes it clear that Emily Blunt would absolutely be a fantastic casting choice.
