Carrie-Anne Moss and Keanu Reeves can currently be seen rekindling one of the most badass and heartwarming romances in film history in The Matrix Resurrections (read our review). Naturally, fans have been excited to see these two actors reunite on the silver screen and it has led to prognostication that they might work together again on Reeves’ other major action franchise: John Wick. However, the biggest supporters of the idea are actually the actors themselves.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Carrie-Anne Moss admitted to loving John Wick when she watched it with her son. “It was amazing to have that experience with my son and to watch the depth that Keanu is able to [create] with his body. It’s really an art form,” the once and future Trinity said. When the question was posed to Moss if she would like to be in one of the upcoming entries, Reeves had the perfect response: “That would be awesome. You want to play an assassin?” Moss agreed in what seemed like a simple bit of friendly politeness, but Reeves responded with a serious call to action. “Be careful for what you wish for. I’m on it now.”

If this exchange actually does manage to get Carrie-Anne Moss to appear in one of the upcoming John Wick sequels, Keanu Reeves will once again have used his powers for the benefit of us all. Considering that another alumni of The Matrix, Laurence Fishburne, has flourished as the Bowery King in the last two John Wick films, there is no reason we couldn’t see Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus reunite on screen as three other characters. No doubt it would be one of the biggest bits of fan service in the entire series.

Carrie-Anne Moss would easily fit into the hard-edged, sleek world of John Wick. Casting her as an assassin makes all the sense in the world. The big question is: would she be an ally of John’s or one of the many contract killers that are out for his head? As much fun as it would be to see Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss on the same side once again, it would actually be more of a delightful twist to see them at odds with each other. The only thing is that no one wants to see either of them take each other out. Would they be revealed to be equally adept at their assassination prowess? How wild would it be for John Wick’s most formidable adversary to be played by Moss?

There is definitely plenty of time for Carrie-Anne Moss to find her way into one of the two upcoming John Wick features. John Wick: Chapter 4 won’t be hitting theater screens until 2023 due to a major delay, and there is no word on when John Wick: Chapter 5 will be on the way. At this point, it sounds like Reeves has enough pull to actually get Moss a gig in one of these movies. If you weren’t excited about the next installments in one of the best action franchises of all time, this should get your motor running. Here’s hoping Moss actually does get what she wished for and ends up making fans’ dreams come true.
