Zendaya looks incredible in this Versace dress.
If you haven’t taken a look at the red carpet photos from the 54th NAACP Image Awards this Saturday, then we’re here to help you turn your head in the right direction. Photos of Marvel star Zendaya surfaced, showing the Euphoria star wearing a stunning black and green neckline gown. Not only did she look stunning, but she was ready to rock the tastefully revealing gown for the photographers on the red carpet, and gladly waved and winked as she was asked to pose for an over-the-shoulder shot.
While Zendaya wasn’t present at the Golden Globes to accept her award for her portrayal of Rue in Euphoria, she certainly dressed for the occasion at the 54th Image Awards. Despite her nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series alongside Rutina Wesley, Queen Latifah, and Angela Bassett, it was ultimately Bassett who took home the award this year. But if we’re talking about a winning wardrobe choice, all eyes were on Zendaya.
The NAACP Image Awards is an annual awards ceremony for youth and adult members of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and Zendaya was ready to shut down the red carpet. Though her black Versace haute couture dress was an absolute showstopper, she was also spotted later in the evening rocking a custom white satin cut-out crop top and matching maxi skirt by Prada. Leave it to the Disney alum to gracefully transition to adult roles from her tween years.
At this point, it should be worth mentioning that Zendaya knows a thing or two about high fashion as well. In 2013, the Project Runway judge published a book, entitled Between U and Me: How to Rock Your Tween Years with Style and Confidence, which was written to help guide young girls through the oftentimes awkward adolescent phase of life where everything feels uncertain, including one’s fashion choices. The Dune star has also modeled for Beats Electronics, Material Girl, and CoverGirl to name a few.
Though she already seems to be at the top of her game, Zedaya’s red carpet appearance shows us that her charm and confidence are limitless and that she’s only going to continue on this trajectory for years to come. For those who may feel discouraged or intimidated by her elegant and stylish fashion choices, just remember she’s been at this for a long time, and at this point assembling an outfit that will turn heads and drop jaws is nothing short of expertise, instinct, and years of practice. Though her fashion career started with Macy’s and Old Navy, she confidently worked up to Versace and Prada while landing roles in Marvel, and honing her skills as an actress.
If you want to see Zedaya in action off the red carpet, it’s high time you take a look at Euphoria on HBO Max. The series itself is narrated by Zendaya as she portrays Ruby “Rue” Bennett, a teenage drug addict trying to navigate through her life after rehab. And if you’re new to the series, you’d be delighted to know that you only have two seasons to catch up on, and season three is currently starting production, so you have plenty of time to binge-watch!
