Travis Kelce Tries To Meet Taylor Swift
Sitting down with WSJ Magazine (via People) for their upcoming issue, the 34-year-old top NFL player opened up about how “lucky” he was that Taylor Swift reached out to him in the first place.
Essentially, the pair’s story begins back in July when Travis Kelce found himself amidst thousands of fans at one of Taylor Swift’s stops on her sold-out Eras Tour.
While he was hoping to shake hands with her there and meet face to face, that isn’t exactly how things went down, with the duo not crossing paths following Swift’s performance.
Taylor Swift Called Him
But, Travis Kelce had some solid connections of his own – a few guardian angels, or “cupid” as he calls them, whispering in Taylor Swift’s ear about his attendance at the concert.
While he kept the names of his helpers out of his interview, Kelce did spill the tea that Swift’s cousins were also pushing to ensure that a meetup would happen.
Finally, Kelce says, his number was dialed by Swift who said that he was incredibly “lucky” for his support system who tirelessly pushed her “to reach out.”
Taking Taylor Swift Out To Dinner
Speaking about the future couple’s first date, Travis Kelce said that he traveled to New York to take Taylor Swift out to dinner. He mentioned that they had already hit it off, chatting over the phone, so he tried to not put too much pressure on the situation.
Kelce commented, “What goes from there will go from there.”
Clearly, the connection was enough to warrant a second, third, fourth, and more dates as the pair are officially a couple just a few months down the line.
Handling The Spotlight
One thing that Taylor Swift’s dedicated fandom has praised her new beau for is his ability to handle the spotlight.
Seeing as how the singer is one of the most famous people in the world, Travis Kelce has needed to tackle the never-ending stream of paparazzi and fans.
