Hulu’s original mini-series Pam & Tommy streamed its eighth and final episode in the beginning of March, but Lily James — who starred in the series as Pamela Anderson — is making sure she won’t be forgotten any time soon. The actress appeared at this week’s 2022 Met Gala in something that just about redefines the word “revealing.” James arrived at the gala in a see-through beaded dress and man does she know how to wear it.
As Glamour notes, Lily James gave a bit of a hint about what should would be wearing when she mentioned Donatella Versace in her Instagram stories. Fittingly, she arrived at the Met Gala in the see-through beaded Versace including a teasingly high slit. You can see a photo of James in the dress on the red carpet below.

For her next screen project, Lily James will be appearing in the British rom-com What’s Love Got to Do With It? The film was first announced back in 2020 by Deadline, with Shazad Latif (Star Trek: Discovery) starring opposite James. Described as a “cross-cultural British” rom-com, the film stars James as a filmmaker making a documentary about her childhood friend Kazim (Latif) as he journeys to Pakistan to enter a pre-arranged marriage. While making the doc, James’ character will apparently learn something from this “different approach to finding love,” which — we’re just guessing here — will lead to her and Latif’s character falling for each other. The pair will be joined by Emma Thompson (Sense and Sensibility), Sajal Ali (Mom), Rob Brydon (The Trip), Shabana Azmi (24: India), Asim Chaudry (Black Mirror: Bandersnatch), Jeff Mirza (Eternals), Mim Shaikh (Freehold), and Mariam Haque (Homeland). The film is due to hit theaters in the UK sometime later this year.
Lily James has even more coming up, but so far she’s being coy about future projects. Speaking to People in March, she said she had “some cool stuff” she would soon begin filming, but since What’s Love Got to Do With It? has been in the can for a while now, she wasn’t talking about the rom com. While she didn’t say what she is filming, she had previously gotten a little specific about the kind of movie she won’t be making. James told E! the role of Pamela Anderson in Pam & Tommy was the last real life icon she planned to play for a while. “No, no icons,” James said. “But it was an incredible experience. It was wild, such a huge challenge and Pamela’s just incredible. But I’m done. That was enough.”
It is interesting that Lily James is being so secretive about her next role, including having a lack of updates on her IMDb page. Could it be she’s joining one of the big, more secretive franchises? Could we be seeing the Baby Driver star in a Marvel or Star Wars production some time soon? Could she be one of the few dozen big names Vin Diesel plans to add to Fast X until he drives every director in Hollywood insane? When we know, you’ll know.
