Kel Mitchell, who stars alongside Saturday Night Live cast member Kenan Thompson in the upcoming comedy Good Burger 2, has returned home and is on his way back to full health after spending some time in the hospital. Earlier this week, the actor sought medical attention in an emergency room for an undisclosed condition. Describing the time spent in the hospital and the medical emergency prompting the visit as a truly frightening experience, the actor shared on Instagram that his condition has improved.

Kel Mitchell Is Back Home Recovering

While Kel Mitchell did not elaborate in his social media post as to the cause of his visit to the emergency room, or even whether it was for an illness of some sort or an injury, he did confirm that he appears to be out of the woods for now. Late last night, the actor shared the post, saying that there were many people who had gathered around him with prayers and positivity during the crisis. He expressed his gratitude to God and to the medical team who cared for him during the incident for his improved condition.

The Health Scare Remains Undisclosed

Kel Mitchell did say in the post that he is not completely well yet, indicating that he was beginning his process of recovery and surrounded by his family and their love. He confirmed that the incident was a genuine health scare that seemingly could have gone in a much worse direction. Thankfully, the actor says he was surrounded by kindness and love from friends and family and expressed his love and deep gratitude to all those who supported him and helped him get to the point of being released from the hospital.

Kel Mitchell In All That

Both an actor and a comedian, Kel Mitchell has a long history with his co-star Keenan Thompson, going back to the 1990s. From 1994 to 1999, during the first five seasons of the sketch comedy series All That, which was aired on Nickelodeon, Mitchell frequently performed with Thompson for a variety of sketches on the show. The first Good Burger film, in which he played Ed, was based on a sketch from All That and hit theaters in 1997.

Kenan And Kel

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell also worked together from 1996 to 2000, headlining the sitcom Keenan & Kel, also on Nickelodeon. Mitchell also appeared on another Nickelodeon series, Game Shakers, as Double G, though Thompson was not a part of that series. A voice actor as well, Mitchell was nominated twice for an Emmy for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program for his work on the Clifford the Big Red Dog animated series as T-Bone from 2000 to 2003.

Good Burger 2 Releases November 22

Fans of Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson will be looking forward to the pair returning to their Good Burger roles in the upcoming film, which will be released more than 25 years after the original. As Mitchell continues to recover from whatever condition caused the health scare that sent him to the hospital, we will be looking forward to his return in the new movie, especially now that the SAG-AFTRA strike has officially ended, allowing him and Thompson to actually promote the film. Good Burger 2 is produced by Nickelodeon Films and is slated for release November 22 on Paramount+.
