Hugh Jackman recently shared images of a cheat meal he indulged in while visiting The Waffle House in Norwich, United Kingdom. Although the practice is common for actors who are involved in intense training for a movie, the Aussie native’s choice of a savory waffle topped with pan-fried Norfolk field mushrooms, beef ragu, and cheddar cheese sauce had a lot of fans puzzled.

Hugh Jackman’s disgusting breakfast is confusing fans on social media, with many questioning why he puts mushrooms on his waffles.

The actor followed up the strange combo with a more conventional sweet waffle topped with bananas, toffee, and chocolate. A mixed berry milkshake completed the meal. “Happy cheat meal to me!” Hugh Jackman wrote in the caption. “Nooo! I did not share. And I’m not sorry.” Naturally, the comments section was filled with questions.

“Mushrooms on waffles? Is this the Wolverine diet?” one person asked. Another said, “The third pic is criminal.” People across social media shared the sentiment saying things like, “A cheat meal never includes mushrooms,” and “Sweet waffle, yes! Savory, no!” The dish sparked comparisons to chicken and waffles, with one person encouraging Hugh Jackman to try it “with a side of mashed potatoes.”

I like breakfast cereal at 11 at night, all that kind of easy, simple stuff. In Australia, it’s meat pies.

Hugh Jackman explaining his diet

This isn’t the first time Hugh Jackman shared some of his favorite cheat meals. In 2015, the Deadpool 3 star told E! News that he loves to eat at all hours of the day. “It’s sort of weird simple stuff like lasagna,” the actor explained. “I like breakfast cereal at 11 at night, all that kind of easy, simple stuff. In Australia, it’s meat pies.”

Hugh Jackman will next be seen in Deadpool 3, scheduled for release in 2024, where he will reprise his role as Wolverine. As a result, the actor has had to adopt rigorous dieting techniques and engage in intense weightlifting to prepare for the film. He will also dedicate six months to training and building muscle for the role.

Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine in Deadpool 3

Deadpool 3 is set to be released on May 3, 2024. Shawn Levy is directing the film from a script he co-wrote with Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, and Ryan Reynolds.

While not much has been revealed about the plot of Deadpool 3, one notable detail is that the movie will maintain the R-rating of the previous films, ensuring that it maintains its characteristic adult-oriented content. Interestingly, Hugh Jackman will portray a new version of Wolverine, allowing him to delve into uncharted territory.

Additionally, the movie will feature the talents of Rob Delaney as Peter, a member of X-Force from the second film. Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna will reprise their roles as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio. Morena Baccarin, Karan Soni, and Stefan Kapicic will return as Vanessa, Dopinder, and Colossus, respectively.

However, Hugh Jackman was in Berkshire this week to film a special episode of the Great Celebrity Bake Off benefiting Stand Up 2 Cancer. He was also spotted in London at Pink’s Hyde Park concert. Hugh Jackman has a connection to Norfolk through his mother, who lives in the United Kingdom.

Additionally, Hugh Jackman is a supporter of Norwich City Football Club (NCFC) to challenge fellow actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who are owners of Wrexham AFC.
