Between starring in top grossing action flicks, being known for her extremely rigorous workout routines, and even having the singing voice of an angel, many of us have wondered, “Is there anything Brie Larson can’t do?” Today, we found out the answer is yes, but she’s working on it. In an Instagram post the actress dropped earlier today, she can be seen in the middle of an online French course. While she tries to hammer down some words, her teacher can be heard on the other end of the video chat correcting her. A frustrated but smiling Brie tries again and again before tossing an exasperated look at the camera. Accompanying her post, the actress wrote, “Determined, not defeated,” assuring her followers that she would eventually nail the dialect once and for all.

Could she be preparing for a new role? It’s hard to say, although we could see the new language classes as either a role preparation or just a side hobby of the multifaceted Larson. Marvel fans have been long awaiting the return of Carol Danvers in a major role for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Barring any major mishaps or pandemic related delays, fans don’t have too much longer to wait. The Nia DaCosta directed feature, The Marvels, is slated for an arrival in November of this year. This time, Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel will team up with Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) on a journey that’s being kept tightly under wraps.

Outside the world of the Avengers, Brie Larson also has several other productions up her sleeve. In early 2021, it was revealed that she’d be starring and executive producing the Apple TV+ series, Lessons in Chemistry. The series will be an adaptation of the book by Bonnie Garmus and will be set in the early 1960s. In it, Brie Larson’s character, Elizabeth Zott, will deal with her dreams of being a chemist dashed due to society’s limiting beliefs. With her life falling apart, the single mother soon lands a job as the host of a TV cooking show and sets out to share her knowledge with the viewers at home.

Keeping things close with Apple, Brie Larson is slated to join back up with the network for a yet-to-be-named series based on another book. This time, the show will take its basis from a memoir by Amaryrillis Fox titled, Life Undercover: Coming of Age in the CIA. Larson will star as the groundbreaking author in the series that will see the rise of Fox in the CIA. A theology student at Oxford, life changes in an instant for Fox when her mentor is captured and beheaded by a terrorist group. Because of this tragic occurrence, Fox completely changed direction in life and became a celebrated member of the government agency.

Finally, Brie Larson is gearing up to follow her directorial debut of 2017’s Unicorn Store with Lady Business in which she will also star. The story of two female entrepreneurs, the women will need to hire a third male founder if they want to get their business off the ground.

With such a stacked schedule, it’s hard to believe that Brie Larson has the time to take on French lessons. While her studies may not be for any of her aforementioned projects, we can’t wait to see just how she’ll show off her skills next. And to end on some words of encouragement, keep on keeping on, Brie! We know you can do it.
