Best Fast Food Burgers

When it comes the fast food chains, burgers tend to be where our brains go when putting in orders. It makes sense with some of these menu items ranking up there with the most iconic options going. Here we’ll take a look at the best burgers from the biggest fast-food chains and how they stack up against the rest of the industry.

McDonald's - Big Mac

Saved the best for first. The Big Mac at McDonald’s is probably the most iconic of all the fast food burgers out there. You know how the song goes: two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions on a sesame seed bun. It first hit the menu in 1968 and has been a fan favorite ever since.

Burger King - Whopper

The Whopper at Burger King has been around since 1957 and been among the most popular fast food burgers ever since. It’s the company’s flagship offering with the signature flame-grilled patty, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, onions, mayo, and ketchup that all combines for one of the most iconic menu options going.

Wendy's - Dave's Single

The Dave’s Single burger at Wendy’s is named after the franchise originator Dave Thomas and relies on simplicity for its long-standing rank in the fast food world. It first came on the scene in 1969 and is a quarter-pound fresh beef patty with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, ketchup, and mayo on a toasted bun. There’s a distinctive Wendy’s taste with their burgers and the Dave’s Single stands above the rest.

In-N-Out Burger - Double-Double

In-N-Out has become a West Coast staple among the fast food burger connoisseur group and for good reason. The chain puts out quality offerings in each location and it’s a big reason their brand dedication is among the highest in the industry. The Double-Double is their best burger, coming on the menu when the first location opened all the way back in 1948. Two big patties and all the fixings with the signature spread make this one of the best burgers out there at any franchise.

Five Guys - Bacon Cheeseburger

When it comes to fast-food burger chains, Five Guys is relatively new on the scene, only forming back in 1986 with its first location. Been the joint has been on the rise ever since and their Bacon Cheeseburger makes for one of the best choices among chains out there. Because bacon seems to make everything better, this only adds to the flavor and the rest of the burgers stack up there with the other chains.

Sonic - SuperSONIC Double Cheeseburger

Sonic promotes the drive-in experience as good as anyone out there and this experience is a big driver of their brand. But they do have some good burgers and the SuperSONIC Double Cheeseburger piles on the goodness throughout. There are two beef patties, two slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and mayo which combine into near-perfection.

Carl's Jr. - Famous Star with Cheese

While Carl’s Jr. is a bit more regional than some of the other big fast-food burger chains, they still do a solid menu. The Famous Star with Cheese is in line with the other best burgers on this list in terms of makeup though there’s a tangier sauce that does help distinguish it some. This is easily their best burger menu item.
