Keanu Reeves Learns A Game-Changing Secret In The First John Wick 4 Video
The first trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4 is here, with a revelation that Keanu Reeves's Wick has a family member on the council.
Keanu Reeves is back as John Wick in John Wick: Chapter 4, and the highly excitable official trailer has dropped, bringing with it the same type of chaotic action that has existed in every single movie of the franchise. The trailer also gives us our first look at Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, and Hiroyuki Sanada. It appears that Yen and Skarsgård are going to be the chief antagonists for Wick in this new movie, at least according to the fighting that has happened.
John Wick: Chapter 4 sets up an interesting game-changing secret for Keanu Reeves and his gun-toting character, as John Wick can now get out of being hunted by the organization, by talking on Bill Skarsgård aka Marquis in one-on-one combat. The premise of the movie also seems to set up that Lawrence Fishburne’s Bowery King is trying to get Wick at the seat of the table, as he has a family member that also sits on the high council, which is an interesting revelation. John killed Santino D’Antonio in John Wick: Chapter 2, making him “excommunicado” though it seems he may finally get out of being hunted, should he win this battle to the death.
We do see Keanu Reeves, obviously, joined by series regular Ian McShane as Winston. Winston has been a constant ally to John Wick, even helping him to escape the city when he was first listed as “excommunicado.” Naturally missing from the trailer is the manager of The Continental, Lance Reddick’s Charon, and a dog. Wick has been known to keep a dog close to him, but there was not one to be found in the above trailer.
Both Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane are rumored to be reprising their roles as John Wick and Winston in the spinoff movie, Ballerina, which stars Ana de Armas in the lead role. We are not sure if she is going to be introduced in John Wick: Chapter 4, but we would imagine she might be to showcase some deeper world-building. There is another series about The Continental being produced as well, making this John Wick franchise far more fruitful than it already has been.
As previously mentioned, Hiroyuki Sanada and Donnie Yen have joined the franchise, and it appears as if Keanu Reeves is going to have dealings with both men in the trailer. Yen seems to be more of an antagonist, as one of the ending sequences shows Yen and Reeves’s characters fighting one another with katanas and handguns. To be honest, the usual case for most movies these days is to release a teaser trailer first, but John Wick: Chapter 4 decided to go all out and give everyone the high-powered first look at one of the biggest anti-heroes the world has ever seen.
John Wick: Chapter 4 officially debuts on March 24, 2023. We cannot wait to see what happens next, and Keanu Reeves could stay in this role for the next 10 years and we would not mind in the slightest. John Wick was the role made for him, and it is arguably far more popular than him as Neo, yeah, we said it.
