Fellow Trek veteran Leonard Nimoy has also logged some hours as a yellow-skinned visitor to Springfield. Unlike Takei, Nimoy played himself — or at least a satirical version of himself — both times. He first turned up in the classic episode “Marge vs. the Monorail” from the fourth season. Nimoy serves as a framing device for the story about an “alien” in Springfield, narrating a fictional show about alien encounters, in the vein of his own In Search Of….
