HALO, BioShock, And Other SF Videogames Get The Fake Movie Poster Treatment
While a couple of videogame adaptations have managed to reach the level of “so-so, but not completely awful” – I’m thinking here of Silent Hill and maybe Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time if we’re feeling generous – we have yet to see even one unquestionably good flick based on a preexisting game. On one level, that’s not at all surprising, since the way an audience interacts actively with a game is very different than the passive immersion of a movie. But on the other hand, videogames are becoming more polished, the quality of game writing is improving, and many games have elaborate settings and histories that have spawned novels and comics and other spinoffs. I know I’ve got my own personal wish list of game movies that would/could rock, and you’ll find quite a few of them in the posters below, scavenged from around the net by DailyDip.com.
You can see the rest of the posters over at DailyDip. And if you want to read up on some exciting videogame adaptations currently in the works, check out these stories about potential Deus Ex and Assassin’s Creed films.
