Fans of The Walking Dead may want to take a momentary break from getting excited for the start of season three and pay attention to this. There’s been so much blood spilled over the first two seasons that AMC has decided to collect a little bit of their own, you know, just to even things out in a karmic sense.

The show, the network, and even some celebrity zombie fanatics have teamed up with the American Red Cross to convince folks to donate a pint or two of spare blood. Take a look at the PZA (Public Zombie Announcement) below.

In order to increase donorship, AMC has decided to sweeten the deal. If you go to HERE between now and Monday, October 22nd, you can win a three-day, two-night trip to check out the set of season four of The Walking Dead. That’s a kick-ass prize just for letting a stranger poke a hole in you and drain some of your life force.

Beyond being one hell of an incentive to do something for a good cause, there’s something else exciting contained in this announcement: there’s going to be a season four of The Walking Dead. They just kind of slipped that one in under the radar, but it’s welcome news for fans of the show. Not an unexpected turn of events, especially given the massive ratings and the amount of cash and effort that AMC is sinking in pumping up season three, but a welcome announcement nonetheless.

To further their efforts to squeeze blood from the American populace, the Red Cross enlisted some famous supporters to let special effects guru Greg Nicotero make them up like undead walkers. Take a peek.
