“Hermione just stole all of our shit!” This Is the End features the most star-studded cast since The Avengers last year. The post-apocalyptic comedy marks the directorial debut of Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (the co-writers behind Superbad and Pineapple Express), and looks to be one of the funniest movies of the summer. Sony recently released a very brief NSFW red-band teaser that shows off some of the comedy’s laughs and gruesome celebrity kills. If you’re not a fan of Michael Cera, then this is the teaser for you!
I have a feeling that Danny McBride is going to steal the show in This Is the End. It’s hard to stand out in a cast like this, but if anyone could, it would be McBride. Just based on this teaser, he has the loudest mouth and he’s the most obscene.
This Is the End centers on a lavish party filled with young Hollywood stars, which is suddenly interrupted by the apocalypse. The massive chaos kills many of the party guests, but a small band of partygoers must work together to survive the end of the world. This Is the End will feature actors playing fictionalized versions of themselves. The film’s premise is based on a 2007 short film titled Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse, featuring Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen.
The post-apocalyptic comedy features an all-star cast, including James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Emma Watson, Michael Cera, Jason Segel, Paul Rudd, Mindy Kaling, Martin Starr, Kevin Hart, Rihanna, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Aziz Ansari.
This Is the End will hit theaters everywhere on June 12.
